Default J71 body Durability

Hi all,

Any input on the durability of Protoform J71 body? Especially compared to HPI Shelby GT-350.

Cheers,

Otto

the J71 body is pretty damn durable - plus it comes with an extra nose, in case the original gets too beat up..

just a little shoe goo and you'll be good. I've been running the same J71 for 2 years, a little dent here wrinkle there and its still as strong as it was on day 1

Any idea what the dates for the VTA Southern Nationals are this year? With my job, we have to sign up in January for any vacation April this year through March of next year. I would really like to make the trip.

I race VTA at Mike's every week and we request that you do run a driver figure. We try and follow the rules as closely as possible but still want to get new people out, generally we give a few weeks to get your car legal.

Crap... that means I'll never get to go; at least as long as I have my current job that is! The second half of August and the whole month of September is fiscal end-of-year for us and we go to a 7 day-a-week work schedule, so unless I get a new position in this company (about as likely as snow in H377) or a completely new job, I guess that's one event I'll never get to participate in!

Hey LeftyAEguy,

I hope to see you in some VTA races at Mike's soon. For an example of a good setup for VTA at Mike's, take a look at this VTA setup sheet.

Starting on June 6, 2013, VTA Club races at Mike's Hobby Shop are going to use 100% USVTA Rules exactly as they are posted on USvintageTransAm.com.

Between now and June 6, the VTA rules at Mike's Hobby Shop allow you to use any make 25.5T brushless motor (e.g. Trinity D3 25.5, Viper 25.5, Speed Passion 25.5, etc.). The old rules also do not require a driver figure in the car and the minimum weight limit is 1450 grams.

After June 6 all VTA cars at Mike's will be required to have a driver figure inside the car, use a Novak 3625V or 3425V motor with no modifications, and the minimum weight limit will be 1550 grams.
