Rick Jordan, owner of RJ Speed, told me that he is way overloaded with molding projects right now and there are no openings for a few months. He also said that they currently have lots of RJ Speed '68 Camaro bodies and '65 Mustang bodies on the shelf. It sounds like there has been very little demand for them.

If I had to vote I would say Protoform would build it. They already have the J71 body so a 1971 Pontiac Firebird would be an excellent choice.

About the 3rd line down, there is text across the top of the RJ Speed site in red, "RJ SPEED HAS ACQUIRED A QUANTITY OF BOLINK NOS CLASSIC BODIES. TO VIEW AND PURCHASE FROM THIS STOCK CLICK HERE."
Click on it and it directs to RCCARKINGS.net, the folks that have the bodies in stock.
Rick and I had already discussed the Firebird project a while back when it was first brought up. Not that he's not interested but he's got a lot of irons in the fire and doesn't have the precious resource of time to devote to a new mold at this time.

As discussed before. The body is quite a bit different between the 71 and 78. Too much I would think to justify allowing that body even with a different nose.
But a nose piece for the HPI 68 Camaro for a 68 Firebird would would since they used the same body panels with slight cosmetic differences. But They could be swapped, I knew a guy with a 68 camaro with a firebird front clip on it.
