Shoe Goo is more than strong enough. I've never had any electronics come loose that were Shoe Goo'd in. In fact if you do it wrong it will be next to impossible to remove without messing up the chassis...that's really easy to avoid though. To take anything off that has been Shoe Goo'd to the chassis you need to be able to slice the glue with a sharp blade and then it will pry right off. So make sure when using Shoe Goo not to push the component down too far. You need to leave enough gap to wiggle an Xacto blade into.

What's up All!?!?!
Back for more.
My second go round with 12th scale and went with the Xi. I've had an X but that was waaaay back in the NiMh/ brushed days. I'm doing my homework and reading the x hundred pages to get myself up to speed but any gotchas to look for in the build? Any mandatory upgrades or options? Indoor carpet is gonna be the winter game. Anyhow, any input is much appreciated and it's off to reading I go!!!

Welcome back to the game Kevin!!! As far as build is concerned, follow the directions to the letter. As long as nothing is binding you should be good to go. The xi is an awesome ride. Here is my base 17.5 set-up:

Front end:

.50 front springs
long arm set-up
10 degree reactive block
caster shims, 1 forward, the rest back
2 degrees camber
5k lube on kingpins
Black tires

Rear:
White side springs, set just touching plate, no pre-load
20k in tubes
30 wt shock oil
red shock spring
2mm pod droop
Yellow tires

3.5mm ride height front, center, and rear

BlackArt R8C body, mounted based on dimples for front body posts.

If you have any questions post 'em or feel free to PM me.

Thanks Cypress,
It's great to be back, did the off-road thing for my kid but have missed on-road badly!!
I do have another question for this team though.
On my X I ran the Airtronics 94145 servo, it seems on the Xi they have tightened the servo footprint with holes and I can't mount as is. Has anyone successfully got a 94145 mounted on an Xi, if so what did you do? Is there a dremmel in my future to slot the ears on the case? Really didnt want to do that.
Thanks Again Team,
Kevin

It doesn't look as if the long upper arm and the Pin braces will work on the XTi? Am I right?

Sorry for all the questions - but does anybody know where your PT will go in the new car?

Correct. However, you can still raise the upper arms using the two ends of #3277 Graphite Cross Brace (with center piece cut away). And, I believe you could potentially "bridge" over the servo to use the #3276 Graphite Front Top Brace-Short Arms (but not sure if there is enough body clearance for a raised brace). Check with Dumper!

Raising the upper arms is the more significant tuning option of the two.

What's up all,
Having a ball learning about my new ride but have a couple quick questions if you wouldn't mind.
1. What is the weight of thr shock oil included in the Xi kit?
2. What is the tooth count on the spur included? It is 64 pitch correct?

Any input you all have is appreciated!!!!

Yes 64p for the spur. I called and asked John at CRC about the oil a few months ago, and all he would tell me was that it is 30 wt. I didn't get any more info than that. I suspect AE 30wt would be really close, or XraY 350CST.

Thanks Andrew!! Might you know the tooth count on the spur? I thought I would find it on the spur, maybe i missed it but I couldn't see it.

Thanks Again,
Kevin
