yeah those exotek braces work, i broke king pin, broke back off the knuckle, lost the spring, spacers, shattered a bearing, i even broke the plastic piece that holds the kingpin with the set screw, but nothing to the arm. it might be cheaper to just break an arm lol.

That must have been a YouTube hit! I did back up my repairs with a 23 minute practice run without a break and my best single lap and best lap average mixed in. I'm getting cleaner! At the end of the run, the car was still turning the same lap times as the beginning. Put back 3300 mAH on the 3800 while chargine. I ran for 5 minutes before the breakage and didn't charge in between. I think this setup would make 30 minutes.

Hi, I'm an on-road racing noob and want to get an FGX because I love F1. I went out to the AERCCC in Adelaide with my Son and watched a few run yesterday and was very impressed. They look the goods and seem to be priced reasonably as a starter into on-road.
I have loads of questions but just now I really need some advice on what motor and ESC to start with. I really need to try to keep start up costs down (especially since it looks like I'm up for 1 for my Son too).
I want to get a 21.5T sensored motor and "blinky" ESC since the consensus seems to be that the UF1 rules will become unilateral. Can anyone recommend what brand and model of Motor and ESC I should start with?

Regarding the Alum bulkhead... yeah we have had them on backorder for well over two months, also the dual steering link seems 3Racing has had a tough time keeping up with them. would think TQ will announce when they are back in stock since they seem to get the stuff about 5 or so day ahaead of us

I do have one on my car and I do like the ability to put anti-squat in it... currently have 1.0mm worth

Since it doesnt look like us asphalt guys are going to get anylove, im starting to develop a chassis just for asphalt. ultimately i have found that the stock chassis performs best even over the 3r carbon one. So the kit will only include an upper deck assembly. this is one of the three i will be testing this weekend one key detail is that the rear post locate into the battery slots which give you much more room for the motor and the points are exactly the same from left to right. i have been having a terrible time with tweak here lately and with this deck design now when you lower the car down the tires touch evenly which is something i could never get the stock deck to do. once i get the final design done it will be black G10-FR4 material.

I like that Marcus. I don't wanna change the whole car, only the fragile shite.

The top deck is a good place to start. I ran a thinner top deck this past weekend on my FGX at the UF1 series and it rocked on asphalt!

Thats what i think too, carbon is pretty but by nature is not designed to flex where as G10 is. Hard to get that through the masses head!! That damn tweak was driving me nuts. When i get the complete set done it will also have provisions for a double arm cantilever setup which i am almost done with too!
