Yodog, you have a sharp eye. I am so used to racing on dusty tracks with limited traction for off road that this is probably a habit. Also, I don't have much confidence with on road yet...... I have only raced on road TC for two days and no practice days are available due to a temporary drivers stand.

I have a solid axle and a ton of other parts......caster blocks, toe blocks etc.... I just need to figure out how to put the solid axle in the car.......well off to reading the manual......

Another way to shave 12+ grams is to run carbon hinge pins, but you'll need to stay away from the walls....

There would be little use for a forum if everyone read the manuals.

Bert,
can you use a highlighted font so that we can easily identify what not to read?
Carbon pins....... What a silly notion!
Why no unobtainium?

Yodog, I tried getting those titanium hinge pins, but they were too expensive compared to carbon rods, and too hard to find...
I am open to all suggestions that remove all steel components out of the tc4, fragile or not !!! Time to measure some CF rods!
Got to go...Cheers....

I am going to the roar regionals. I will be most likely run three classes. 13.5 with my race-opt MTS T2, 17.5 with my factory team 17.5, and 21.5 with my TC4 club racer. If anyone is going come say hello.....My 21.5.....using the associated stock silver body.... 17.5 is a Mazda speed 6 white and somewhat clearish body...

I don't expect much as I need more time with my cars........tuning etc.....but it is always fun...

Bert...I've seen the vids. You might think about installing some #11 re-bar.

I've seen people use zip ties as a makeshift hinge pin. No joke.

Anybody considering this and wasting a case of good beer worth of dough, remember that the shear strength of carbon fiber rod is about 1/20 that of stainless. It's probably strong enough to make a very light shelf queen. Just don't drop it.

Carbon rods are good in tension or compression, not side-bend shear.
