What setup/gearing do you run on your dc4 le , desert ??? What gearing did you use on your tc6 for the same track layout ???

I found that I could run the belt cars fdr minus 0.6 without any issues at all... If they run 4.2fdr, I could run 4.2 - 0.6 = 3.6fdr and gain top speed on them without losing punch or overheating, but I use Novak esc/motor though....

Well, the internal gear ratio of the TC4 is 2.5 and the TC6 is 2.0. Right now both cars are just a hair over 4:1 in the gears, TC6 is at 4.16 and the DC4 is 4.07, for actual gears I ran a 54/88 on the DC4 LE last week without motor fans and it ran about 150 degrees, I've run the same motor/esc combo in a belt car at a slightly higher ratio, but I don't want to cook the thing before I get some fans mounted up.

What does this sort of shaft car feel like running a front spool? Mine feels fine with a diff, it was stable under brakes, has good on-power steering through the sweeper, good turn-in and scrubs early-corner speed predictably off throttle, and when I dialed the droop down to 2mm or so it stopped diffing out the front end under power coming out of the corner, so would there be any advantage to a spool other than a different feel and maybe running more steering throw?

My TC6.1 was garbage with a front diff, so before I even ran the DC4 I had a spool under order, I'm not sure I need it now.

do you recommend running front spool in FT TC4?
parking lot asphalt and sometimes indoor gym or painted floor
occasional drifting here and there
it has tekin RS pro with 9.5 gen2 motor right now
idk what gearing is even recommended! car is still like new!
just dusted it off and played with it yesterday
sweet car but pushes on power on rough cement (not polished or smooth cement)

had 3 CF driveshafts wish I wouldve kept at least one of them!

also on FT TC4, besides stock front bumper, what are my options?
part numbers?
what is a DC 4?

New owner of a club kit
Wondering about what spur & pinion to use for 21.5 class?
64 pitch would a 75 spur & 49 pinion fit?
Need about 3.8 to start

DC4 LE is the Diggity Designs car that is TC4 based. My car is linked on one of the previous pages if you want to see what it looks like, basically new LiPo chassis, top deck, shock towers, and such.

I use to run a diff too in my 3.5t mod Car until the motor's power blew the diff bolts , front and rear..... The spool is a no brainer with lcd(losa3344) drives... After the switch, I never popped anything ever since(6+ years no rebuilds), light use though...
As far the 9.5t Car, I would say to gear it at around 7.0fdr to start and add boost....
Desert, it's weird that you get 150°f at 4.07 fdr.... I could leave my hands a long time on my motor and never have to take it Off when I ran my 17.5 at 3.65 fdr when others were running 4.1 fdr..... It is possible that you might be undergeared, but I would loosen the drivetrain some and gear at 3.7fdr and see what that does... It might be the front cvd's causing excess friction too...

For the front bumper, I use the parma ultimate bumper(#par8049) , but you'll need to google it instead of going to your lhs....
As far as 21.5t motor gearing, I would say 3.4fdr if it is not limited. I also only run 48p gearing so a 55t robinson spur is a must with a 40t pinion, but you'll need to dremel the chassis part that's under the pinion gear if you have the tub....

Also, for front push on power you'll need to set the Car up properly, but only run on prepped track first to make sure it handles correctly and not worry too much about how it performs on unprepared surfaces, or else you will chase setups forever.....

Well desert, the spool gives you instant acceleration in all conditions, turning or not... You don't have to wait for the wheels to straighten out to punch.... More forward traction...

The spool also allows you to put more power on the ground by relieving pressure on the rear diff if you run little front droop... It can make the Car push a bit, but that can be reduced with setup... I only run front spool/rear ball diff in all my tc4's and will never go back to front diff or run a rear gear diff ever .... I like the rear ball diff's adjustability, and I love experimenting with different grease. Also my 4.5t hv has enough power to kill the tc4 ball diff, but because the front spool takes the majority of the load, the rear ball diff does not blow on a 1721gram tc4...
