What's wrong with IRS. It's alluminium and it's made in USA.

We use IRS spool up front and IRS alloy diff outdrives on the rear.

Never had any trouble with either.

I don't like IRS pin cushions, in fact I use Corally Assassin drive shafts with their own blades. They are a virtually straight fit.

Have a look at the attached pic.

Here's an even better pic of them on the TC3.

Great pic.

Hey John,
Where do you think I could find those blades here in the States?

Thanks!

Kimbrough and PRS make good spurs and PRS would be the only pinions I would buy right now. I can't get any other pinion as quiet as I can the PRS.
Thanks a bunch for your help. I haven't gotten a chance to get back on here, and by then I missed this post. I will be sure to get a 100 tooth spur and try out a few different pinions around 41. I haven't heard of PRS. Which company are they?

Precision Racing Systems

You might want to go with something smaller than a 100. Some of the guys were questioning if a 41 tooth pinion would fit.

Maybe try 94/ 38 and a couple smaller pinions and you would be ok.

I dont want to have to change all those parts to fit the irs ones.
If I could use my existing dogbones I would use them. Those Delrin ones are still lighter than aluminum.

and to be honest, like 80% of the time i run stock anyway (at the time i got steel ones, i ran mod)

so strength of the delrin ones compared to the stock isnt a problem (i found stock outdrives to be strong enough for 27t motors)

its just that its a right pain having your dogbones popout with the stock outdrives....just trying to find an alternative to the steel ones...that is much lighter (my tc4 weighs 1600 with the fan kit and steel outdrives ) and dont let your dogbones popout during races.

i think im going to give the delrin ones a shot in the near future.

I was popping the right dogbone almost every weekend and I was running stock. Now I run the steel one up front. Its not the static weight of the steel outdrives its the rotating mass that sucks the most. I was going to do the irs ones but my LHS didnt have all the parts to do the conversion.

I am currently building my TC4 and bought the lite weight steel one for the rear with a one-way up front. I saw the plastic diffs in the kit and after melting one down in my TC3 the gear and snapping the outdrive I did not want to have that problem in my TC4. I only run a C2 in my TC3. Also had a racer do the same with his TC4 although he had a lower turn motor in his. Should I run the same gearing with the 4 that I am currently running in my TC3 I know the drive ratio is the same. Currently running a 72/28 in my TC3 and it gets a bit warm. Waiting on my kinetix C2 and will be putting the GTX in my TC4. Thanks Gene

The tc4 uses the same ratio as the 3 2.5 so you are all good.

Yes I have tried the steel ones.. but for one pack only... just too dang heavy.. as far as the advantages of the PAL diff over the IRS one...
1)weight the PAL one is lighter by 1~2grams
2)does not need separate T-nut to build the diff
3)the PAL diff can be shimmedmore than the IRS diff for better gear mesh
4)it comes with very strong teflon blades that are larger in size compared to the corraly ones
5)2 colors Black and Blue
