A bit of a brain dump for now, I'll tidy it up tomorrow. Any other settings to explain or elaborate on let me know

When using spilt suspension mounts, how do I know whether it's XA or A?
As well, which suspension blocks are narrow and which suspension blocks are wide?

Craig - thx for sharing. One question: if you change stabilizer rod do you have to adjust the lenght of the holders attached to the arms or keep kit lenght for all lenght.? I tried the soft swaybar after the medium and i was not sure worked well. What should be the right lenght or how can it be measured?thx

Yes you will need to shim the bulkheads by >1mm (eg 1.5mm). This then gives you clearance between the center post and the too deck. But the car generally handles better with the center post connected to the top deck and the layshaft bulkheads disconnected to the upper deck.

It's time to replace the ball studs and cups on the 417x as they are starting to bind.
What's is everyone using to replace the ball studs? The Tamiya ones or is there any other options?
Also with mounting the shocks on the shock tower, I want to replace the ball studs with a stud and nut. Can someone suggest what to use and where to get some?
Thanks
Fred

417 spool choices
guys, got a couple of questions regarding spool for 417. It seems Tamiya spools are out of stock everywhere, I now have 2 choices, one is by spec R and 3racing.
The thing is 3 racings outdrive is plastic, and the spec R seems to be spring steel.
What are your opinions about the outdrives of each of these brands? which one lasts longer ?. Also for the Tamiya 44mm DCJ , is the distance from the dogbone end to the bearing mounting face the same as the regular 44mm CV joint ?

I use the new lightweight drive cups, excellent, cheap and you will never have to replace them, just the drive shaft protectors.
