Oh ok so what floating servo mount can I use on a 417x chassis. Also what final drive(or spur pinion combo) should I start off with, ill be running in 17.5. Also has anybody tried the Smokem 417FX chassis I'm looking towards that and the Smokem floating servo mount, or is the Raceberry the way to go I just don't want to spend $200+ on a conversion kit or is the V5 cheaper to go with. So if anybody has other options ill appreciate it.

Ill be running on asphalt so which one should I run the FX or MX and does the TRF servo mount work on either chassis. Also which motor mount should I use (417, 417x, 417v5) ill be running on medium traction track so ill be needing a little flex. Also should I run the standard top deck or the new Raceberry top deck.

I'd ran with Smokem chasis since my first 416.

Now, with the 417FX, smokem convert it in a awesome car.

In our Andalusian Regionals (Champion last year and second in this championship), normally are the fastest one.

But I don't like the floating servo mount like it comes with only two screws. This thing make a little crash to be the car untrimed.
I add a hole with a pin in through the chasis, adding a third point of rigidity and be more difficult to be moved by a crash.

Should I run split blocks in FR and RF for asphalt or just split blocks in front?

Usually run all split blocks on asphalt

Also should I run 2 gear diffs or spool in front and gear diff in the rear for a medium traction track, and what diff oil should I use I was thinking 40wt in the rear.

Start with a front spool and 2k in the rear gear diff. 40wt is WAY too light

Hey Craig, have you tested your raceberry with a grub screw in the motor mount from underneath vs a flathead screw? Which one have you liked better/is faster? You mentioned you've had the hard and soft chassis working well with around the same laptime, what are your main setup changes between the two? Do they feel any different driving wise?

Ah good questions. At RROC Marc and Viktor both told me they always run the grub screw, and Marc said that the main difference is that it gives more steering

The chassis do feel different, the soft obviously has a bit more grip and I find it has more low speed steering while the hard carries more corner speed and is easier to free up. The set up should not change too much between the two, but Marc told me at RROC he was running more ackerman shims with the soft chassis compared to the hard, 5mm with soft vs 4mm with hard.

Do the 8mm grub screws fit? Do I just screw in and put some locktite?

So many flex options !! Has the hard been working for you on low grip ashpalt? So with those ackerman settings, have found the hard chassis has less overall steering?
Are there any other settings that have become standard with the raceberry?
Did they give any tips on a carpet setup? The AOC should be interesting hahah
Btw what are you using for centerline battery stops?
