How many TDX shims do you fit with the metal gears? I'm going to use the metal gears in my v5 build

But after about 15 runs (3 race days) in 17.5 I have noticeable wear in the stock hardened steel spool out drives that bothers me where my Roche hardened out drives on the 417x look like new after 5x as many runs. I will be replacing the V5 ones with Roche pieces soon.

Marcs TITC 417V5
Hy there.
Hey guys look at the pic from Marcs Car at the TITC practice.
I noticed that the rear lower bulkheads are shimmed where the upper deck is attached to it.
So in my opinion he uses the 417/x original bulkheads in the rear. Can anybody confirm it?
If yes it meansthe diff is located lower? So it affects the rollcenter?
Am i right with my speculations?
Greetings Rainer

The car is pretty much good to go ........ I use a 417x or similar center chassis weight to help hold the battery from moving left to right (a BD7 weight fits fine also and is lighter and tapered to help adjust weight bias front to rear).

It also looks like he is using the regular bladder shocks and not the new bleeder screw shocks.

Good eye, you might very well be right about the 417x bulkhead bring used. I know the top deck is higher on the V5 but not sure how the diff height compares between the X and V5 car, never measured it to be honest.

Marc used the "old" 417X bulkhead in the rear.
The difference between the 417X and the V5 bulkhead is:
- diff is 0.5mm lower on the 417X
- topdeck is 1mm lower on the 417X
For him the lower diff had more traction in the rear!
Hope this is clear,
Jilles
