The new center pulley doesn't have the belts offset from the spur gear like the 416, they're exactly the same distance, and the spur rides in this tiny little slot in the top deck. It looks f*ing dialed.

Also, this new ball diff is a really nice improvement. It's a chunky monkey, but having the hubs fill the pulley is awesome. It looks like a direct fit in the 416.
I would be suprised if it did fit, as the distance between the bearings is much smaller on the 7 than the 6. Might be able to space it out, but the belts/pulleys mught rub. Anyway, best put the bits back in the box...

Yeah, it doesn't look like it's got a chance of fitting. If only we could get our hands on the prototypes they were testing on the 6!

I wonder how closely my 416 setup will translate to this new ride.

I've tried using 3Racing 19t center pulley on my 416X and it works... you may try it.

The 3 Racing Sakura 19t pulleys are a snug fit, but they work. You need to run the belts looser than normal....but that's expected. The end result is when running a gear diff, the centre pulleys and rear belt are more reliable and the off power feel is smoother. (IMHO)

I was also using a 113t spur but that was with the bulkheads raised 1mm.

Thanks guys...I will look into the 3racing pulley. I think you could also use the Tamiya 36t pulley and not have to set the belt in the loose position maybe with a 19t center pulley?

Does anybody makes weights or something we can stick to flat packs to help keep them in place? Something that'll match the cutouts in the chassis of the 416/417. I want to ditch the "hooks."

Cheers for the tape info guys. I've got some on order (although I am hoping a carbon strap becomes available soon.

Does anywhere have the parts for the ball diff available yet? I don't want a one way as I race on a very small technical circuit so brakes are quite useful.

Oh, and are there any other parts that are recommended for the build? I assume it has the coated susp shafts etc included at the new higher price they charge.

the hooks are actually pretty nice, you should try them. They also have a hole drilled in them.. those nice round brass Hudy weights mount nicely there.

My lipo is totally locked in there with those hooks.

We just got in the 417 front belts, diff rings, spool cups and axle rings. They'll be on the site shortly
