Thin i read that the team drivers dont use it on carpet.

I ask because my lak of training track time. I usualy came to the race track sunday morning, and so there is no time to play with such things.

Greetings Rainer

It's all in your driving style. I use 1mm holes on high-traction carpet and I love it. Try it.. And get yourself a spare set of shock caps... Or shoe goo to clog them if you are really cheap.

Hey Folks,
does anyone use Anti-Dive or Anti-Squad? How will the car react on these changes? I want to try a few new things on my next run.

Anti-dive yes, anti-squat not so much. Neither are huge changes, the anti-dive improves the car under brakes and gives better turn in. Anti-squat does just that, it stops the car squatting on power and improves on-power steering. I find it makes the car snap oversteer off power though.

Hi there,

Just curious how many 1mm holes are you drilling in each shock and exactly where are you drilling them?

Default TA05 Gear driff use in 417

Hi,
Have any one tried to use a TA05 Gear driff on a 417? i kind of fed up that the 417 gear driff 2 cop joint is easily destroy whenever the shaft protector lost.
So i was told the TA05 uses a hard steel with out the need of shaft protector so is it good? have any one tried?

This is an easy fix, use different blades. I use SpecR that are a lot stronger and I haven't had a single blade failure since. I'm on my second pair of outdrives since I got my car, the first set only lasted 5 battery packs with the original tamiya blades.

Other people on here take the damaged outdrives and grind them out to fit TC6 blades from Associated.

problem solved.

I was having the same problem too in my 417x until i tried this TA05 outdrive it got much better, now i don't even have to buy the blades anymore since the 44mm shaft fits right in without it. Make sure that you use the 10mm spacers so that the bearing housing sits well on the chasis.

Arena also make hardened steel outdrives, about 1/2 the price of the roche ones

Not using a blade will make the rear suspension bind up under power, I would not recommend that.

New tamiya blades are on the horizon, 3.5mm and made of delrin. Of course, we'll have to change or file all of our existing outdrives
