Shorter wheel base is good on small tight technical track it gives you a lot of steering but you loose stability... Longer wheel base makes the car really easy to drive and very stable but you loose steering....

Looking for the TRF spring set Blue/White since on carpet it seems to be the combo to have.

What are the codes and here can I get them?

Recently we acquired a 417 to do some testing and develop some items for the car. I have been very curious about the geometry and weight distribution of the car to help us further develop our RSD6 chassis platform. I also wanted to see which items would work cross-platform.

For what it's worth, I tested our bladders, shock seals and purple springs on the car. Every item outperformed the Tamiya counter parts and the purple springs actually had a better feel than the HPI Silver. However, our springs are 13mm vs 14mm in I.D.

Yes and no, at MACH the team used a very short setup, while at RROC Marc was 0.5mm longer rear and Viktor who won was 0.5mm longer front and rear. I find short wheelbase has less cornerspeed, but maybe I need to change other settings to compensate for the extra grip

Interesting, I have heard good things about your bladders, I may pick some up to test. Which HPI silvers did you try, black silver or silver silver?

Silver, silver, from the Pro 4 spring set.

Yes, the bladders are a little bit softer than the Tamiyas, so they can achieve true zero rebound, or even a little negative pressure depending on the way they are built. They are very durable as well.

I am very happy with the 417. First night out with it and was running virtually identical lap times than with my RSD6. They drive slightly different, but get around the track fast.

Believe it or now... Tamiya 900wt clear Damper oil.

I actually use the yellow soft damper oil on the rear of my TA05 V2.

hey guys, i need some help here, i just want to know the difference between trf 416 and 416x. i bought my onroad car off ebay and the guy told me it was the trf 416x, now having a lot of trouble on the axle cross joint needle pin, 2 of it came off everytime i ran it, i look to it and found out their is no ring that will hold the needle pin in place. my question is are those axle cross joint needle pin set up stock for the 416x or he just replaced it with cheap parts...thanks...

Are you using the gear for front or rear? My rear is really loose, it has the yellow damper oil in it.

Tamiya package their diff with the hard clear damper oil for all their gear diff (when you buy them as spare parts).

I use 300,000 from Yeah Racing on my TA05 V2 with exotek chassis (which pretty much like a mid motor 416). I also have another similar car with front spool.

Please correct me everyone... I think most ppl will prefer tight - solid front to increase corner speed. And really loose rear. That's how I was told to set my cars up, and so far it's handling ok... still has some room to improve but that's just tuning other parts of the car, has nothing to do with diff...

1000-3000 oil seem to be the most populour choices for the rear oil, 2000 is always a good place to start. For the front, at least 500,000 oil or the ride putty.
