Is that 40wt shock oil in a rear gear diff?
Running on a 16-17 sec asphalt track with fairly high traction. Looking for a couple oils to try. |

I had the same problem. I broke both left and right C-hubs while practicing and there were no big hits anywhere. I replaced them with TC6 4 degree hubs and no problems since then. I noticed an irregularity in the plastic at the break. It looks like the plastic in the center is granulated. I'm not a plastic's expert so I'm going to send them to AE so they can take a look.
Anyway, I plan on running the TC6 hubs until they offer a better hub, i.e. aluminum would be nice. Jim |

In Minnesota, we're one of the last redneck holdouts in the world running foam tires on carpet.
The big question mark we have right now is whether the TC6 will work out of the box in that configuration. We've seen some other rubber-specific cars act very strange on foam tires. I'll find out when I get one and try it out. I'll have help from some experienced sedan guys here to set it up, especially if we find out it's too flexible. I just got the 6.1, wonder if I can set it up to outrun my TC5F on foam? Any inputs on set up? Thanks |
Anyone know what the pound ratings on yokomo blue and pink springs are.

1st run
Got the car build and went together fairly well. No slop on the caster blocks and a little deformity on the gear diff but at least it doesn't leak. I had the opportunity to give it's first shake down on our reconfigured technical 102'x 60's ozite carpet yesterday and I am very pleased on how the car performed. Car is very predictable. I went with box setup at first but over steered too much to my liking. Raised rear roll center and went up 2 holes on the rear shock and thats all it took to get me dialed in. Awesome car compared to my 415 MRE which was also a good car back in the day. Great car Associated has put out.

What springs came in your 6.1 kits? The manual shows green and silver, but my box had 4 silver springs.

Great, thanks. Wanted to make sure before I called.

Belt tension/adjustments
Newb question- what tuning is there in changing belt tension? Since there are 31 positions for every cam type (tho some are redundant), what's the benefit for one or the other? Is tension directly based on trigger response? There is nothing in the manual. Thanks.
