If a track or event is running by USGT rules then to my way of thinking the use of the exact same motor by all entrants should not pose any concern at all except for the technicality of tech inspection to ensure the motor passes the regulations set forth in the ROAR approval list. This comes into play because there is no "oh by the way" rule from USGT that says except where Can/Am motors are being used. Who knows if the motor supplier has dumped all of his unsellable "cheater" motors on Can/Am since it shouldn't matter if they are all out of "spec" since everyone is using one and no advantage or disadvantage should be noted. This brings us back to the points deal. If I am at a USGT event being run by straight up USGT rules and score National points while someone else attends a USGT event that is being run with Can/Am motors and that someone out scores me using a motor that hasn't been teched to insure legality by USGT rules despite the fact that the motors were all the same then the potential arises for significant conflict especially if it alters the National point standings and affects a possible year end award or standing. If the powers that be at USGT jump in with an oh by the way clause then the afore mentioned flack becomes their Albatross.
Since true USGT racing already is frequently decided by driving and set up skills, attempting to force everyone into a box just to justify questionable interference sounds, well, a little, I'm sorry but I can't directly answer that because political comments aren't allowed here.

Well honnetly I'm thinking the orca part# will be changing for can AM to identify the motors properly for the races . but I dont see why everyone running same motor would be a issue no matter motor it is ... Its based on your race event stats ... Not your max speed or rpm or fdr or accelerstion ... Just off your finishing position only ... So if your/their running a cheater "roar legal" trinity big wire motor and get first then go to a can AM event and only get 3rd your going to bitch thats the bottom line of the argument for these guys right ? I understand iic not being included in the points ... Its a expensive race to attend ... And that class is heavily regulated motor /fdr/esc/body /weight.... Where can AM is only a motor/fdr thing ...

OCASUSGT is the CANAM listed part number. If it's sold with this part number is it ROAR legal??
ROAR lists part number that IS legal for events, I have some Japanese Domestic Market Team Powers motors
that look like ROAR approved motors but had a different part number.
Not being an a$$ just know how some people pick apart a rulebook and in my RC world will have to listen to them......

I looked on the approved motor list and did not see a single ORCA motor listed. Did I somehow miss it? Too many damn lists and organizations to sift through!

Actually, from a rules point of view it is very simple. If I can't enter a 100% legal USGT car into an event because it is using the Can Am motor rules, then it is not a USGT event. And i would and will protest any points that are awarded from such events. On the other hand, if RobK and KevinK create an alternate clause that stipulates these events are to be awarded USGT points then I will abide by that.
