same here with night racing, dark colors just wont do. A dark car even in the daytime on asphalt is difficult enough for me. LoL

I say if you don't want realistic cars, race in TC 21.5, otherwise follow the spirit of the class... the reason it exists.

I guess you missed my point, someone not having stickers or multistage paint jobs are not going to stop me from racing against them. I understand your point about being a purist and wanting the cars to look a certain way, but this discussion to me has turned into a bunch of old guys waving their fist and telling people to get off of their lawn. Paint your body however you want as long as everything is within the rules.

Like I said before the only thing that bothers me is the modifying of the gravity tires to be like touring tires but nobody is saying anything about that. Oh and if they ran 21.5 tc where I race I would be all over it.

Where is this being done? Glueing sidewalls yes, cutting them no.

Are you talking about how gravity tire tread profiles looks flat when newish but then becomes round or 'domed' when used? That can happen naturally as the tire wall becomes thinner as it's being used up. The rubber becomes thinner and softer and and easily 'domes' with a combination of heavy use, tire softeners and tire warmers. I guess you could accelerate that process many ways but how do you regulate that when the 'break in' can happen naturally any way?

That was one of the good points when this tire was selected- it actually became faster as the tires were more used and abused, unlike touring car tires

Even in TC 21.5 ROAR rules state you must at least run headlights and taillights. I had to "sharpie" mine on at the nationals because I forgot.

No I am not referring to natural wear. You can tell when it is natural wear and when it is not. And yes I am talking about the roundness on the edges. When it is natural they do not round perfectly even on both sides all around. These are my tires that have natural wear. I will see if I can get a picture of some non legal prepped tires like I am talking about.

And a quick questions for you guys s that race the big races do they allow you to bring your own tires or do you have to buy them when you get to the event?

Also I am talking about guys that run on asphalt not carpet guys.

Depends on the event. 2017 paved nats you could bring your own sealed in a bag tires. 2018 paved nats you had to buy them at the race

Forgot it was a rule, lol. It had been about 10 years since I raced TC before the last nats.

Got my Ford GT body in a few days ago. Sprayed it up box art (screwed up the roof, sprayed it blue instead of red, my fault for painting after an 18 hour work day) and got my decals from Carl. Even though the roof is wrong, this is one seriously gorgeous body, can’t wait to put it on the track and see how it feels.

It seems there is some confusion on the wing side dams. 10mm is for the wing itself. We never enforced side dam size, except it must extend down from the same height as the top edge of the wing ( i worded it side dam height). In other words, you can't make it look like a sprint car with the side board 2 inches taller than the wing.

In the past, there were bodies like the old HPI NSX and Frewer F40 that used the side dams to hold the wing up. There is nothing wrong with this.

The rules will be fixed soon to clarify things

Thank you for the clarification. I will pass this along to track owners in my area.
