So this is not legal. I’ve been cutting my P-zero’s wings wrong the whole time.

I just went through this with my new CR.7 corvette build from PF. The wing I saw in pics with the dams.. but then talking to USGT guys at the track I quickly figured out, just cutting the wing out STD from the mold was perfect height. I am already to practice with next week with my USGT Corvette.

With the popularity of the new Ford GT body quickly rising. I’m expecting to read complaints in the not too distant future about there being full races of just the GT body. I read this about the PZero body before.

So I had an idea, maybe it’s been tried. What if a large events when people registered, they had to include a primary and secondary body choice. First to pay fees get first choice. Event host can decide a limit on a particular body. Just a thought.

I honestly think USGT is about to go back to what it was intended. Cool Super GT Fast and Furious Tuners and Modern American Muscle.... I made an idea or two....

1. the body issue imo is simple as IIC/Vegas has submitted a min body weight rule 90 grams. I think that is a great idea. Keeps guys from destroying 1 event bodies sort of speak.

2. I think since the USVTA organization runs VTA 25.5 and F1 25.5, why not make USGT 25.5 too... Think about this, with the weight and tires and bodies, we would still have different speeds without the motor issues. And it would slow the cars down just a tick or two. And Ive tested this and I truly enjoyed it... 1/2 faster still

3. which is in effect was the painted wings.... not a fan, but I understand. And I think it will work just fine....

4. need to have 2 numbers on the cars....after all these are scale race cars,.... I don't think its legal in motorsports to hit the track without numbers?....

5. last, here it comes...DRIVER FIGURES!!!!! why not....

just a thought, what you guys think?

This past weekend Valkaria RC held the ROAR Region 4 Regionals race. In the optional USGT class Larry Myers who came all the way from Texas actually TQ'd and won the race using a Killerbody Corvette. In talking to him on the driver's stand, he was a firm believer in the effectiveness of this body on asphalt. Finishing 2nd from FL was Richard Johnston using a P-Zero. I finished a very close 3rd after being all over the back of Richard for the last 3 laps or so, using a PFM-10 body. So, we did have a mix on the podium. However, most of the P-Zero bodied cars did run well during qualifying. None the less, the battle for 2nd was some of the best racing action in any of the mains.

USGT has never really taken off in Florida. It's been very sporadic at best but some guys in the West Palm area have been trying to get it going. This year, 2018 - 2019, the FSEARA (state series) is picking up USGT as a formal class for the asphalt portion of the series. This is very good news and I for one intend to support the class moving forward. First race is scheduled for 9/30/18 at Valkaria RC. Hopefully we can wiggle this class into the club level throughout the state as well.

Thanks to Dave Franklin for letting me borrow his USGT ride for the weekend!

25.5 is a good idea to separate usgt from 21.5tc ... but what I would really like to see is USGT going back to its RCGT roots with 26mm tires

Myron that's a really cool idea ... I like it ... Tho I feel the weight could stand to be at 1320 tho or just not have a minimum since it will be a supercars class... The body weight is a non issue to me ... Even some prototype bodies can come in at 90g race ready....

I miss the different rims, but I dont miss the tire issues.... I think leaving the Gravity is best.... now you can still use 26 rims
