I will NEVER sell my Xipp comm lathe. I remember how much I had to save up to afford it! On another note, does anyone know how to attach the rear wing on The Build RC Aston Martin? It makes on sense. I may just adapt the mounts for the Cadillac to work but thought Id ask.

interesting...so you guys think a motor price cap would equal out racing or "NOT" scare new people from the class?....
so if thats true, motor tech runs in cycles as posted by Justin...Snowbirds its this, then Vegas its that, and so on....but who is making you spend the money?...just because the "fast" guys or the one hit wonder is beating you now, doesnt mean its motor, lipo or anything....its psychological?....I can promise you that no amount of money can buy you talent or a win....
best example I can give....Ive been running XYZ motors for years, and have done pretty well with them....but never really had any following locally with them. Sure every now and then somebody would pick one up and give it a shot....but thats about it...well all of a sudden another very respectable and best racers in RC starts using them and the whole club pretty much switched...why?...cause he is the "fastest" guy and people follow the faster guys...but in the same breathe he could run a Traxxas 20t and still win, and next week racers will follow suite...
long story short....if you spend $150+ on a motor, thats great for you...is it a win?...no...is it going to be that much better, maybe?....is it going lose its excitement ?..YES....so look for the New Reedy M4 21.5's coming soon...
how was that?....we good

Yes.

I know a spec 21.5 would make our Usgt class grow & get bigger. I would like it as the tech guy at our track. Tired of seeing big $ spent on a 21.5.
Just my $.02
We have a nice group of Usgt racers & we all thank you for creating this class & keeping it going.

The plan was to use a Tamiya wing with the stock mounts but I'll figure something out. The back of the Aston doesnt have a flat surface like normal car bodies. On the issue of a spec 21.5 it may make the class bigger OR it may upset people who recently spent $100 for a new motor to run. That idea could go either way.

Ha, .2 a lap between your motor and the new hotness after a 6min run on a 11 sec track is roughly 6-7sec faster which at Cleveland champs will be the difference between the A-C mains ... And if you screw up a few laps yea it still matters cause the laps you didn't screw up were still .2 faster ...just saying
Myron it's been forever since reedy got it right ,you really feel they can do it 2x in a row lol . Why you have 4 different usvta motors ? Exactly . Lol

One more thing If the fastest guy here ran a 20 dallor traxxes motor he would get smoked. Here you have to claw for every tenth there are many drivers that have consistency during a race from there fastest lap to their slowest lap have a half second spread. Even me with meger skills have a .8 of second deviation in laps from fastest lap to the slowest lap puts me 5 seconds back from the lead. Most of my laps are in 3 tenth range on a good day. I run third or fourth most racedays.
I have also seen almost every brand of motor win a race every brush less motor is different and some are just put together and magic happens. You can buy a $99 middle or $150 boat anchor. Some guys really know how to gear and time a motor for peak performance. I think that is more important than brand or costs.

good points....and Yes I have 3 Novak 25.5's and 1 Motiv 25.5....but I have 4 USVTA cars...Pro,Invite(now Jr),Jr VTA, and TC4....
and will the new hot motor be a Reedy?...sure, anything is possible...but I think its still hot....even with my small victory Sunday....I know that sleepy Master Matt was peeking out the corner of his eye...lol...I still have 2 laps to make up.
be in all fairness I dont think this is an issue....if the motors fall within ROAR specs. It would be no different if I was selling my motors off...and I said $40 for a 21.5....but the one I won with Sunday is $100...Thats the good one right?...so I need a little more to part with it.....same thing....these other company have $99 motors like everyone else...but to get that fine tuned super 1% certified bad azz....its an extra $50...you want it?...yes or no?...its worth 2 tenth if you dont hit the boards ANY!

All good points ! I am coming at this from buying a lowered end fixed timing 21.5 and being very disappointed with its performance so with my new motor purchase I just did not want to make the same mistake . thanks for all the info .

NO!!!!!!! if this is the case then why didn't VTA make it the the Novak, like the Boss motor. There will still be difference between motors; even though they are suppose to be the same. The top traveling runners that run VTA could tell you how many Novaks they purchased or how much money they spent to get "the one" good one for large VTA events. If someone says any different they are BSing you.

cause all the really fast guys talk the entire time at the track wile being at different tracks and this usually points all the fast guys twards the faster motor.
