Hey Adam, i sent you that question. just wanted to make sure I had legal body for the race. It was my understanding if it was not on the touring list anymore, a truck or prototype it was legal. I thought that was part of the class to get more variety on the track. I have a stratus and 300m painted up that are usless if not legal for this. let me know your decision one way or the other so I can make sure I am legal. I did run the stratus this last weekend at the new years rumble in Superior and everyone thought it was within the rules.

I think the body rules should be ammended to say no 4 door or sedan bodies. There are several touring car style bodies that aren't on the t2 because they come from knock off manufacturers that never submitted them for approval in the first place.

Until the Mazda 6 body came out, the Stratus was THE body to have in touring car.

if you out law all 4 door sedans then all the bmw`s audi`s and such are not legal either or the new Cadillac. you will have a whole field of pf10 and camaro and no variety

If it EVER was on the T2 list it's illegal. No stratus, no alfa156, etc

Time to dig out the Dodge Stratus bodies from the 90s! :)

But seriously, I hope not.

If I may butt in, the Caddy ATS.V-R is a 2-door coupe. ;)

Thats not how the rules read. Just saying. I have an Opel Calibra from 1997 that would look really nice finally painted up!

Speedy,
Just in case you didn't realize it, RobK WROTE the USGT rules.

I ran the "old" (2006?) Protoform Cadillac CTS-V body in USGT for a while. I believe it was on the T2 list at one point. Although I purchased it to purposefully avoid the Dodge Stratus of the time - bleh!

Rules as written aren't always perfect and need to be clarified from time to time. Looks like this is one of those times.

I'm open to the idea of a "realistic look" type of thing. But then by allowing the Alfa, and the 4 door Caddi, and some other 4 door cars like the BMW's you also open it up to bodies like the Stratus, the Mazda 6, Dodge Dart, or any other body that is directly molded after a real car.

I honestly thing the rules are pretty good as that are. There are plenty of drivers that have been around long enough to know what bodies were once run in touring car. If you see someone tryin to run one, let them go for the day for club races, but say, next time it won't pass. Big races people should know better.

as a club we a pretty lax on the body, but we don`t allow cars on current list. also a couple of the hobby shops here have old sedan stock you can get for about half price. we need to remember all clubs can do as there members vote on, but if you go to a big race or another clubs function you must know and abide by their rules
