guys im running the gear diff in the rear of my mod t3'11 and am having alot of fun with it. gives alot more on power steering and i like it alot!
one problem i am having is it is throwing out oil, not excessively but it is enough to see oil on the chassis by the diff after a run. also due to this i am having to refill it with 2000 losi oil every 6-7 runs. is there anyway to keep the gear diff from leaking, and it appaears it is leaking out of the middle where the green gasket is. any ideas?

Put a dab between your thumb and index finger and tap all the way around the gasket. Then install the gasket, fill, and assemble the diff.

I highly recommend using Associated Green Slime (or similar) on not only the stamped, paper gasket, but also on the o-rings inside the gear diff housing. If your gear diff continues to leak, you'll simply need to replace the paper gasket and the o-rings (Spec-R made a running change to a 'double' o-ring), apply the Green Slime, and your problem will be solved. I've done the above and had a dramatic decrease in leaking. Good luck.

I stripped a screw head, and all I had to replace it was extra Mi4 spur gear screws. It tightened down just fine, and that diff hasn't leaked a drop.

Do you have local Schumacher distributor there? If yes get screws from them (or get them order it for you) http://www.racing-cars.com/pp/Manufa...ec_R/G870.html

Hrm. I just disassembled one of the diffs I got from Schumacher, and the screws were a slightly loose 1.5. The 1/16 didn't seat fully and slipped. The spare screws I got from hks linked above were also 1.5. I need to double-check the diffs I got from hks now.
You defintely need to be patient and careful the first time you put the screws in, though, because they're a very tight fit while they cut threads. I'd suggest screwing them in once before assembly so it's a bit easier.

How much oil should I put in for the rear diff? Like in a nitro diff?

Diff are no as good as they could be
Hi All
Has anyone had the slot in the side gear were the pin sits flog out, running mod there is too much torque going through the diff, the gears need to be made out of a stronger material.
Has anyone tried any steel gears to see if they fit in the diff housing, from a gas car or the new Serpent gear diff ?.
Regards

does spec-r make a metal gear diff for the ff03? The small gears in my plastic one has blown and I've read some others have done the same. thx.
