I'm doing the same thing that I have always done with every touring car that I have ever had. I use small needle nose pliers. I never had this problem with any of my previous Losi XXX-S cars. All of them had stock shock shafts on them though so that's what this one will have after my tear down.

when I put shock ends on, I hold the shaft by the very top thread with a small side cutters. I've never broken a shaft (using the xxxs g+ shafts) Maybe there was just a run of weak shafts or something???

Angry broke shock shafts ????????

IT IS THE TOP BUMPER MOUNT

One of our drives today walks into the pits showing off his new bumper top mount......guess what first half dozen laps he hits the boards & BROKE SHOCK SHAFT..

I have one mounted on my xxx-s g+ but i ran longer bolts up thru the whole mount from the bottom with a small spacer between the diff cover and top shock mount with lock nuts on top...... aint broke a shaft ever in 4 months of racing.

If anybody is interested let me knows and i will try to post a picture

Very interested here racecar850, I'm kinda seeing your picture but aren't those the holes used for the sway bar mounts? I beleive your mod can still work with the SB mounts. If you can please post a pic.

swap them out now. I have no words for what I have gone through with these shafts. I didn't have this problem with my old car so I will make the graphite plus just like it. Stock shock shafts and old style bumper for me. Good luck with yours

Thanks for the set up on the xxxs,I will let you know how it works out next week.I "tried" to run it on sat.but I forgot that I had changed the servo in the car last week..and never centered the darn servo so we did not have alot of time between rounds and I never checked the car,I just put it down. That was alot of fun driving the car with the wheel cranked 3/4 of a turn..just to make it go straight what the heck it was only the third heat(I had all ready made the A main)But next week I'll have everything working right. The yokomo still hooks up.But I think if I can get my losi dialed it will be faster.

Thanks Rccar850 for the pics, I plan on doing the same but with the sway bar mounts somewhere in there, I forgot if it's the front holes or back holes for the SB mounts.

STNLST, thanks also for your help on this topic but I want to give the nitride shafts a try with the bumper mod.

Does anyone know what this plastic piece with adhesive backing is used for? It's not the one that goes on the side of the car to protect your battery from shorts.

It is used to cover the slots in the rear wing. It keeps it clean and also strengthens the wing too. The rear holes are for the swaybar.

Hi,

I have a question about the losi servo saver...... on my losi XXXs it "feels" like the servo saver is giving up in the corners. as this is my first XXXs and one else has one at our track I need some input on this.
We went from a TC3 to the XXXs just to try it out. so far it's amost as fast as the TC3 except in the cotners where it feels like the servo saver is loose or giving up some. we race foams on carpet and have found a setup that my driver likes. I was wondering if any of you are replacing it with a black Kimbrough S/S. it was built to the instructions and I would like to find a fix for this problem before next weekend as it is a big race weekend for us.

Thanks for your time

lose the servo saver and don't run one at all and use a normal losi on or if you want to run one use a kimbro one I think they make um.
