My LHS told me that I'll need to change the plastic brace to carbon one on the opposite side of the motor plate inorder to fit brushless motor.

Yeah this along with the updated Idler gear, should enable us to focus more on the chassis setup rather than worrying when the tranny is going to go. Oh and maybe we will get lucky and Tamiya will offer this (re-labeled) as they did the re-labeled Spec-r for the 416, and we can use these in the TCS series

Yes it is the reinforced gear set from tamiya, I stripped the stock yellowish idler gear in my TRF 201 but no problem ever since I change to the reinforced set. It should work great on the FF03 too.

In the UK at the moment, the Pro is £3 cheaper than the Civic kit at the moment. Not sure how that compares to other markets.

I have seen 'other market' idler gears & such available & wondered if they offer an altered ratio to utilise the torque in the brushless motors & not have the huge pinions looking something like 2 spur gears mated together?
