The chassis is 3mm? Don't you mean 2mm lightweight like the Kai for the EVO3?

Talked to CHAMP RC in Japan today and they say that TAMIYA stop production on the EVO4 for now. Couln't understand the guys "Engrish" much. That sucks because I wanted to buy one this week. CHAMP has them for $259USD plus shipping. Ebay is bank!

Martin: Those comparisons you gave between the EVO 4 and 415, I assume those were on asphalt or were those done on carpet yet. If not, I would be intrigued by some updates as to what your testing shows. A group of us down here will be racing 415 on carpet this winter.

it may be cheap but you'll get hit with taxes, shipping, credit card fees etc. etc... still don't understand why they charge tax if it's shipped outside of Japan..

How much do you think it would be total?

shipping to US..approx. $40.00
+ 10% taxes and fees.
so total is around $320.00+/-

Allspeed Hobbies was selling one for that price shipped in the for sale thread.

EVOtech, you want a thicker chassis for carpet because you do not want the chassis to flex. A 2mm chassis will just make things worse.

The Kai chassis for the EVO4 is 3mm:nod: .. I don"t belive that Kai makes a light weight one for the EVO4..?:weird:

I never said Kai did make one (yet).

However, my digital caliper reports both (EVO4 standard and Kai Mk1 EVO3) chassis to be 2.6mm, so we're both wrong.

Nor, Kilruf, did I make any recommendation as to what chassis or setup to use on carpet, as I know nothing about it. We have never done it or tried it.

I live in Thailand so the total will not be bad. Shipping here to Thailand is not expensive at all.

If you want cheaper, you pay with telegraphic transfer (TT) through your local bank. Perhaps the bank will charge you another 10 bux for TT fee.

Credit card is sux because: (1). the credit card company is going to charge the shop additional 3.5% ( will be paid by you) and you will be billed later with "blood sucking" exchange rate from Yen to your currency. (2). Don't you scare with hackers? they can pull your credit card info to buy other things.

About Japan Sales Tax, well...... you need to confirm first with the shop owner for duty free exemption ( i don't think rc champ is duty free shop ). But who knows ? if the shop plans to get more international orders, the shop will listen to you.

Champ is a duty free shop:nod:...but you have to ask for it:nod: otherwise you will get nailed with the 5% Japanese sales tax...
