Usually with purples the front tires are the ones that get sticky, giving more steering later in the run. Post the rest of your set up and maybe someone will have an idea. Front springs (.020?) Camber, Caster, ride height, etc.

I have run the Hara car on asphalt (that's what it's for) and thought it was pretty good. A t-plate car may be easier to drive if it's the right one. I found that my Yokomo was faster than the Hara because it was easier for me to drive. If I had the talent, I would run the H12.

Try going to softer springs up front, like .024. The.050 sound way to stiff. Also try a the silver spring on the rear shock.

odpurple,
Front springs are .020, .5 camber, 10 caster, battery cups turned to move the batterys forward.
3.5mm front ride hieght and 4mm rear.
Thanks
Dayton

1armed1........need more info. track surface/tire traction compound/ride height/tire size/etc

Carlos, I have the silver spring on the shock, the .050 is the spring steel t-bar. Front springs are stock, .020 I believe.
Thanks

This set up should give tons of steering, hmmm. Ideas, anyone?

theisgroup 09-27-2005 09:36 PM

i think you wait for the traction to come up. you will be chasing setup until then. i also think that purple is too stiff, you should go to a double pink or 2 stage purple. not sure how the ss tbar work, but i would go with a .078 fiberglass tbar or maybe even an .080.

camber should be set for tire wear and should not be used as a tuning aid. but .5 seam a little low. are you getting coning? if so you sould increase the camber.

Is this a mod car?

What is that t-bar made of?

Don't quite understand the front tie rod attachment points and that piece with the semi-circle cut in it???

Please bring this Saturday.

The problem is after a couple laps the tires "tack" up real good, it pushes worst than a 2whl buggy with a 9 turn.

Is it good for a couple of laps, then starts to push or is it bad from the start? A car can push if you get off line (in the marbles) and my take a lap to get the tires clean. A body or chassis rubbing can cause a lack of traction at one end of the car.

I think the best thing to do is ask someone at the track. Your problem is kind of hard to troubleshoot on the net.
