Originally posted by AdrianM Yup, Schumacher hasn't made a 1/12th in over 20 years. Our Factory drivers run whatever they want in 1/12. Paul Wynn runs a RC12L3 due to his long history with AE and Reedy. Only Masami has been sponsored by Reedy longer than PW! Andrew Cartwright and myself run Hyperdrive Pro 12's . Mike McMahon is a long time CRC driver and runs a T-Fource 12. |
They still make tons of oval cars. I'll take a pic this week and put it up here. It is basically a RC12L3 with a 1/8" shorter wheelbase (like a Switchblade) and CRC damper tubes instead of plates. The chassis is .090" so it works on Asphalt and Carpet. All you need to change is t-bars.

The current cars have CRC alloy damper tubes and the new IRS Graphite Big D ring diff. The also have alloy IRS rear pod plates. Like I said...its all tricked out.

anyone out there have some pics of a CRC bloody six pack
i would like to see how people set up the electronics and battery packs thanks, Chris08527 |
how do you guys hold on ur electronics just normal servo tape- like the double sided foam tape stuff? and batteries-just normal black electrical tape? cuz i just bought some 3300s and now my L3 finally has all the parts to b run i think lol
|
The best servo tape in earth is 3M interior/exterior mounting tape. It is a dense gray form. It sticks like crazy yet releases when you want it to. It also comes off in one piece.
To hold your cells in you need a fiber reinforced strapping tape. You can get 3M 3/4" at the grocery store but that is kinda overkill. Hobby shops sell a 3/8" wide version in black or clear that is better suited for the job. |
you need fibreglass reinforced tape to hold your batteries in the car.
RICE98W i live in the uk, and i bought my car through kraig at KT hobbies, the guy was great, very helpfull, cant recommend him enough. does a good price on jaco's too. |
thanks jas and adrian
what about servos do u use micro sized or full size or does it not matter cuz i have heard both? |
suppose you could use a full size servo if you had too, space may be a little tight though.
1/12 servos all so have alot less torque, i picked a futaba 9650 up for $69 then there is also the ko servo i've seen for $82 |
okay cuz i talked to someone and he said that he has seen a lot of the smaller servos burnin up and has never had a problem with his
|
I use an Airtonics 94141. Its a mini servo..they last forever.

Speed Merchant sells the Mylar tape. |
