After reading all the drama above,, forget it all, At least we are talking 12th scales, no matter what car you run, just wheel it.
BTW big race in Long Island this weekend, I know some very fast 12th scale drivers will be there. www.southshorehobby.com |
except the battery retaining system, the quad 12 looks like a rather conventional T-bar car. Why it handles so well, because of the damper tubes or the main chassis has the right flex characteristic?

Why it handles so well, because of the damper tubes or the main chassis has the right flex characteristic? The Quad12 handles well not only because it uses damper tubes with a T-bar but also the cells are pushed as close to the center as possible making the car transition quickly and smoothly. There are also small user friendly things like, the ability to remove and replace the motor thru the bottom plate, the notch in the bottom plate along with the front cut out locates the center of the car for checking width and tweak and did I mention you don't need tape? That, to many racers is worth a lot. D.P. |
Roll Tide- I think that Mark Smyka won Snowbirds in 12th stock last year with CRC Six Pack. Although I think a few Rev. 3's occupied the top 5.
They have won the nats in 12th stock for quite a few years running though. |
the fact of the matter is that a great driver (not that I would go that far with Smyka) could win with any of these cars.
thus, the key goal of this forum should continue to be to help all 1/12th drivers, regardless of which manufacturer they bought from. I think all would agree that each of the makes has at least one (if not more) weaknesses... Stormperson - I do agree you help drivers irrespective of manufacturer. It will be interesting when Josh Cyrul's new 1/12th scale car goes on sale to we mortals |
Stormperson:
Snowbirds 2003 1/12 Stock GTP 1. Mark Smyka CRC 6-Pak 2. Scott Jakes SM REV3 3. Paul Cicarello SM REV3 4. David Lee SM REV3 5. Dave Reimer Trinity Switchblade 6. Scott Earnst IRS RugRat Not sure about 5 and 6. They may be reversed. That's all I remember. |
And when Josh Cryul releases his 1/12 we will have another car to discuss. I'll buy one just because Josh is a local boy and you got to help the locals.
|
I don't know if I'd buy one just because Josh is a local guy...
I WOULD buy one because Josh knows his stuff, and is a great guy from all reports that I've heard. I've not yet had the pleasure of meeting him in person, but he's certainly friendly and open enough that I trust he wouldn't release a product and attach his name to it if he was less than confident in its quality and capabilities, and if he wasn't going to stand behind it 110% |
I haven't had a chance to talk with him in person since asphalt nats. but you can be assured that his 1/12 will be sweet.

Shortly after reading the news on here about Josh, I was talking with a couple of the locals who have met Josh on several occasions..and used to race regularly at Larry's and in the local D-Town area with Josh...
I asked what he'll end up running in Cleveland..and their simply response...probably his own... I guess they nailed it...but the signing of Spashett so close to the race is also a major coup. I'm just curious about the design of the car....I wonder what we'll see |
I'm just curious about the design of the car....I wonder what we'll see If its not...well...it wont be like the crc or speedmerchant! .......not that I have anything against those cars....I prefer a t-bar if you couldn't tell. |
I love t-bars for mod and springs for stock. I know that Josh's car will be the perverbial $hit for mod.
|
For cleveland, what kind of rollout should I look for running mod...9 single reedy Ti based?
