Try to find Trinity Zip Grip 2 it is the best traction compound for asphalt. You can also see if the owners are willing to spray the track with coke which will help with traction issues. Also track temperature will affect grip level.
Hey Guys,
A local shop just finished their on road track. Due to constraints the surface is concrete, and VHT is being used to make it sticky.
I ran my Associated 12R5.2 last weekend with a 17.5, and was having a hard time putting power down. Anyone with rubber tires hooked up fine, but us foam guys not so much. I was running Double Pink fronts & Soft Pink rears straight out of the box from Contact. For sauce I tried SXT and black can Paragon, and the Paragon was substantially better.
I'm wondering what brands/compounds I should look into that may work better for this surface? Also I'm struggling to follow both CRC and BSR's color coding as it doesn't match what is on their website. So if anyone could layout the hardness progression with rubber type that would be awesome.

For maximum grip on the rear, you're going to have to use tires which won't last long i.e. Yellow or White Jaco/BSR
Paired with Team Purple/Lilac fronts, this will get you around, albeit quite slowly
Kit Tamiya RM-01 foam are going to work better, as would an RM-01 kit, as it's very soft and flexible, unlike modern 1/12 kits
Black, White, grey, Yellow are (Full Synthetic)
Front 2X Blue / Blue, are new foam (Synthetic, chalk like when trued)
Rear Blue / Green (Semi synthetic)
Magenta, Pink (Rubber based Japan foam)
What about the durometer (or general hardness) readings for them? Which one's harder/softer between xx Blue and Black?
Monti is the Yoda of BSR foam tire explanations, will see if I can get him in here to clear things up, but this is how I view the foam families

You might want to hunt around in your dad’s stuff for a Parma speed 8 HD body. My HD T-bar car with that high down force body was the decent 3-4 years ago when the traction was pathetic at CH.

I have ordered a couple of sets of crc blu's through my lhs. However, I don't have a huge amount of confidence in them actually arriving in a timely fashion (or at all).
With that said, I might end up running xceed/enetti mediums again. I was very happy with the xceed mediums, with the exception of them going away pretty badly after 7 minutes. Is this problem something that I might be able to lessen with different saucing practice? Perhaps saucing the rears longer/shorter?The balance and gip of the car was great up until the 7 minute mark.

I am using SXT 3.0, and sauce about 20 minutes before my run. Traction was high but not crazy high. Was able to lift the inside tires a bit if I tried to carry too much corner speed in the tight corners, but never traction rolled, so I was about at the limit of how sticky I wanted to be with the tires.

Blk and dbl blue are about the same firmness. Blk has less grip than dbl blue. When or if I run Blk fronts I dope them full not to mention they wear faster .
Using a durometer it almost point less since there isn't enough foam let alone once trued. Just note which tire is firmer or softer and leave the grading to the mgf 😄

I downloaded this file years ago and have used it as a setup cheat sheet for my 12th scale stuff. I think some of it's outdated now, anyone want to give me a hand updating it for today's cars?
I have had that on my phone for years for quick reference. The only thing outdated really are the t-bar parts.

Hello all, I am fairly new to 12th scale end of things. I have 1 big question that I cant seem to find the answer for. I am running a Hobbywing xerun v3.1 esc along with a Novak ballistic 17.5, but for the life of me I cant get the esc to stay running on a 1s. I have tried the receiver pack/bec but have not had any luck. Thanks for your imput.
