You could run something like the Team Powers super capacitor thingy whatever they call it. It weighs about as much as a small Rx pack. I found it made ZERO difference but some guys swear by them and it definitely doesn't hurt anything other than the weight.

I've decided that it's time to upgrade my truing cutter. The stock Yokomo cutting blades are well... not cutting it. I looking fora cutter that will offer clean cuts with a smooth finish. I noticed there is the BSR and Hudy cutters and they look nice. Unfortunately I can't seem to track one down in Japan.

Any of you have experience with any other cutters that might be available in Japan?

There is the GQ/CRC/Calandra carbide bit, I have not seen anything cut as fast and smooth, the Hudy maybe as smooth, but the really any of the carbide bits work the best, lest load on the truer drive motors as well, low low amp draw with a good cutting bit, I tested that ages ago.

from my experience, the CRC bit cut as good as the Hudy bit ( I have both).
the cut is smooth and don't chuck the edge when making deep cuts.

The BSR cutting bit does look interesting tho, anyone has feed back on this?

In a 50 lap flawless race, how many laps do you think running boost as opposed to blinky would be worth? 2? 3?

The BSR bit is the correct way to cut rubber/foam. You use a stone, you don't rip it from the wheel.

Where can you find it? I can't find anything about it on BSR's web site, and can't find any info about it online or at any of the places I regularly shop. I've heard people talking about it, but can't find anywhere to buy one.

This is really encouraging guys, ive been racing rc cars for 30 years and can't remember a single time when 12th scale had a strong buzz about it during the summer months like this. Hopefully it continues on this path and we have a awesome winter

It might require some effort to get the scale on the truer to be accurate but with that bit you can cut tires down to 73mm on one pass and they are clean... No need for 2 passes on the truer to get to smaller sizes like that
