I may reconsider.

YA! , but seriously, I have raced the ORIGINAL Xray, the EVO2, then the EVO2 with the C-hub, the Associated, and now the Schumacher. and out of those, I like the schumacher the best. Like RC Old Man said, the Associated's drive train is sweet, but I could never get the car to hadle good enough for me. The schumacher's drive train may not be as free as a shaft, but the handling WAY, WAY, makes up for it.

I have to say the drive train is just as free. the difference is there is some give in the belt which allows for better traction. the shaft drive is instant! which causes some breakaway. also it "snaps" alot which can throw the car off a little comming out of the corners. I personally like the belt cars for the "feel" The effienty is good on both cars the belt only lacks from a stop. once there up to speed there is no difference in efficenty. but how many times are you stopped on the track?

racenut, we have tried for two straight weeks to make the one-ways work better than the spools. just couldnt get the rear end planted. like stlnlst said, we may work with the one-ways after the reedy race, but right now it isnt a concern. believe it or not, i am much faster with a spool than i ever was with a car that had a one-way in it. still trying to figure that one out. lol

the biggest difference i noticed with a spool vs a one-way was the recovery time after blowing a line in a corner. with a one-way, you would lose time trying to recover your lines. with the spool, you just hit the trigger, the car pulls itsef thru the turn, and your on your way. i also really like the spool.

cop/racer x ....what have you noticed with the castor blocks? I know with my Losi (and my driving style) I had to run the 6 degree castors in order to be able to plow into the corners like I do ...but then that was with a oneway as well.
If anyone is avaialble this Friday afternoon, I'll be @ SWR practicing/testing this week, I figured I'd check with Billy and see if he ordered any 2 & 6 degree castors & 2.5 rear blocks and if not see if he could get them in by then.

Ah nuts, I thought I brought the manual, does someone have the manual and if so can you post part numbers for:
- 2 degree castor blocks
- 4 degree castor blocks
- 6 degree castor blocks
- all the "parts" for a front diff, or a complete front diff if avaialable (this to build a spool out of)
- Anodized "locking" wheel hexes (the ones with the oring that keep the pin in)
- Anodized gear adaptor
- Anodized 2.5 degree rear blocks (if i remember correctly they only come in anodized)
