Just a note the number for the MI3 strap is U3222, the U2985 is for the MI2EC

The battery is taped in, then the strap to keep it from moving around at all. I used 1mm washers under the posts to get a snug fit, but with the tape, it's not crucial to have it fit so tight.

The weights are tungsten pinewood derby weights, taped to the side and the front of the pack. The car is still a hair under 1500g, so it needs more. I don't particularly like the taped on weights, so I'm considering designing a brass tray for LiPos to fit into the slots of the Mi3 (pops is a machinist ).
I had just made myself a battery strap. And what I did with that was to actually taps my Orion 3200 to the strap itself, then when it was put in the car on the post, it sits down perfectly in the chassis. And because its tapped to the strap, it can't move around. I think I'll do the same thing with the real Mi3 strap now that I know it will work.

I was just about to confirm that. Looks like its time to call the LHS and get me a strap in.

Oh, and btw, I mailed off those universals to you today. You'll know them when you see them, the envelope has "Attn: Adam Bailey" on the top and was printed with a printer cartridge thats obviously on its last leg!
