Just picked up an Xray at Ebay....I know nothing about electrics so bear with me.... a couple of things....
1.) The spur is 78 what pinion should I get for a stock motor?
2.) What's a good stock motor??
3.) Which battery placement is more efficient??
4.) LRP or TC2 ESC..pros and cons....??
5.) Would a Futaba 9101 servo be sufficient for steering??
I know it's quite a list.....just share what you can...

Most T1 racers at my local club put their battery all the way to the back near the motor. However, I find it the car get a better weight distribution (almost 50/50 both front/rear left/right) if you move the left side battery all the way to the front just like the Corally C4 Euro or the C4.1.
Motor wise, most of us here use P2K or P2k2. I personally use P2k2 and MVP.
Gear ration is all depend on your track. We run 7.1 to 7.5 final ration on our XRay..
Hope that help.

Thanks Eddie.....good info...

As far as the esc goes, I have heard lots of things about LRP's going up in smoke. I have a cyclone and have never had a prob with it. As for the servo, that one should be alright. It's got 43 oz of tourque with a .16 transit time, dual ball bearings and a coreless motor so you should be fine with it.
Good luck with you x-ray

I have a LRP Quantum and have had no problems with it. My friend has one and he runs a 7 turn motor with it and all he has to do is put the heatsink kit on it to keep it cool.

2. My motor is a P2K2 pro.
3. I believe batteries all the way on the back is most efficient.
4. I personally use a GM V12 speedo, you should look at one also. But, from your choices, I'd pick the TC2 because it doesn't tend to go up in smoke like the Quantum.
5. I use a KO PS712 servo for my Xray. If it is less than .16 sec and has atleast 60 oz of torque, I say go for it.
Have fun with your car!

I have Quantum's and V12's, and I have never had a problem with any of them. The only reason I could see that they would be a problem is caused by user error.
Once the smoke comes out, you can not put it back in though!
The Novak is a good speed control also, I have nothing bad to say about them, I just do not like how big they are.
As far as a servo, I feel the JR Racing Z8450 is the best servo on the market by far!
By the way, I have a JR Racing R-1 PCM radio for sale, it was my personal radio so it was very well taken care of. I have 1 FM reciever for it, and atleast 4 Z-PCM recievers for it as well. A Orion battery, and a brand new dry cell holder as well. I also have the JR case for it, the case has some dings, but nothing too bad.
(Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, But I would rather give this deal to an Xray driver!) hehehe

Buster-
Is that the same Radio that you slammed down on the Table this weekend after you forgot to Charge your Battery for the Third Qualifier?
Just Kidding... Buster Never Slammed his Radio Down.. In fact I don't think that he even used that Radio at the Race on Saturday.

How much do you want for it Buster?
#911
HA HA HA, NO Mike, I have not used the R1 for weeks now.
Sorry Damo, I forgot to post the price.
I want 300$ for the entire package. I feel this is fair due to the condition and the amount of recivers I have for it. I have had some of the reciever for 1.5 to 2 years, so I sent them off to JR to have them checked over and recalibrated, this way I ensure the buyer that everything is up to OEM spec's.
I would never want the image of being a seller of faulty or defective equipment.

WOW, that's an awsome deal Buster. I truly wish I had the extra funds.

Buster, do you have the aluminum shock bodies (front and rear) and the stock bearing set? I tried ordering these through my LHS with no luck. Thanks.
#914
Hey Joe,
Yes I have everything you need. I only have 1 (front, rear) set of the alum bodies left, so I will hold them for you until you call.
I will be in the shop at 2pm EST today.
