RCCadet, Why would you think my post was going to be long?

Damo, I am sorry but I will not disclose the name of any shop or person I refer to. It would not be fair to that person, nor is it good business.

I was viewing 'Who's Online' and I saw that you were replying to the tread, so I waited, and waited, and..........then you posted a three liner.

RC Cadet....the problem with steering blocks that become loose, it may happen that the plastic cups do not sit properly on the ball joints and there may occure some play, but after you will retighten them, they should be ok for a long time. This is first time I hear about such issue, so check again.

Concerning the bearings, go for the new blue covered bearings, they have more balls inside so the pressure is divided on more balls and they should overstand higher pressure. They are also easy to clean. Each ball-bearing must be cleaned. Also if you will get these, degrease them and light-oil.

Concerning the top speed I am sure T1 will get at least minimum the same top speed, if not definitely a higher top speed that any chassis. Ask Buster for his experience.

RC Cadet - I don't think that the flex dex is made specifically for carpet racing. But you definitely would not want to use it for foam tires on carpet, that's for sure. While driving for Yokomo, we found that the chopped up upper deck (which gave more flex) made the MR4TC Pro drive more consistantly and smoothly while stabilizing the car. The more flex that you added, the less steering response the car seemed to have.

I was just curious because the XRay is a bit of a different concept and design. This car is ultra-stiff and all of the pieces fit so tightly together. It seems to be a very tunable car in its existing form. But logic on paper and experience on the track does not always agree with each other.

In design theory, the newer MR4TC Special Edition took the same suspension geometry and made major changes to the cars chassis. They decreased its width, narrowed and lowered CG, and reduced chassis weight by over an ounce. So the SP had alot of side flex in it. This was suppoosed to be superior to the existing chassis desing. For stock racing, the car is a fantastic car. But what I experienced when running modified is that the car is so flexible that is lost its consistency. Many of the drivers continued to run the World's style chassis even afer the new chassis was being sold.

So in one case, with the MR4TC Pro chassis, adding flex was a good thing in most cases and it improved the car's performance. In the other case, the SP chassis, flex created inconsistency in the car's handling.

I guess we'll have to wait till the parts release to do some testing on it.

Dave, do you feel that the T1 is suited for a less experienced driver? Like myself? You have had this car in your stable for some time now, how does it compare to the others?

Mario: It has been a long time since you've been seen on this discussion board. Your last post was maybe on the older RCTouring board. Glad to have you back.

I know the T1 is fast, I've come very close to the Finishline track TQ. I can run along side the multi-regional champion. I am sure that I have to replace my belts and run a complete set of bearings and not use a mixed set. I received a notice earlier about the new 10x15x4 bearings so I'll place an order with Buster in the near future. I have gone through bearing like crazy.

As for my TC3 having an edge, well it does at the moment and it took a lot of time and energy to get it there. The car is a different animal and I will admit that it does not carry speed through the turns like the T1. I cannot carve the turns or weave through the track and traffic with the TC3 like I can with the T1. After this past Sunday I am convinced I can win races again with the TC3. BUT, I know that the T1 will perform much better.

I have to polish the driving skills and I have improved greatly with all the credit given to the T1. I can take cleaner lines, often daring and costly at times. Now I need to find improvement or atleast consistantcy in motor performance.

I was surprised to see that the ball cups had play in them. I tighten the balls down as explained in the instructions. I finished my series race (4th place I might add) and put the car away for next weeks race. The car was fine when I put it away, I had prepared it prior to storing it for next weeks race. Now the following weekend was a cold day and when I ran the car the front wheels seemed to rattle upon acceleration. I'm sure I can blame it on the 25+ degree change in temperature. All four wheels where loose. So out of frustration I packed the car away and ran the TC3.

Dave: I see some benefit to running a slightly more flexible chassis. But having handled a Schu Mission I am reluctant to go that direction having seen that Schumacher decided to go for a stiffer chassis. I imagine I could carry more speed through the turns with a tiny bit of additional flex. The T1's abilities through the turns is already a jaw-dropper for those I race with. As I have mentioned in the past, most of my passes are done in the infield where most have to slow down to negotiate a clean run.

I love my T1 but I am going to take a break and polish my skills with another car. Having to run and learn another setup for another car is beneficial but was at first frustrating since the TC3 is a task to work on.

Here's and idea, I am on my way to run my FTT3. How about a T1-T(ruck).

Mario, is there a truck or buggy in the near future?

Rick - how did you lose faith? Just curious....hehe. Yeah, those new shock bottom mounts look sweet and a very good idea. I was wondering if it would be possible to get the shocks on the arm's centerline.

Mario - if you're listening, how about some aluminum screws for parts like that. Keep the arm weight as light as possible.
