thx a lot.. this is mention in the TA05 ver.II "R" assembly manual... thanks again... but I guess that I got the wrong Rear carbon damper stay.. I got the one meant for earlier version for TA05 / TA05-IFS... not TA05 Ver.II

One more thing actually.. the stock diff. joint are plastic... is upgrade to high precision diff. joint (Tamiya part #53849) are strongly recommended?

those are fine and (imho) better than the stock diffs... but since you're going to spend money anyway, might as well get the alum diff instead (http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...oduct-id=53919).

I love this car. Had my first practice yesterday, I love the way it handles. Out of the box, no adjusting, just some x-patterns on it. Only thing is that the front diff broke where the dog bone goes in. It's cool, a aluminum spool as well as a rear alum diff is on the way. I can not wait to actually get it all back up and running and have one of the experienced guys tweak it for me. It looked just as good as any of the carbon fiber chassied cars out there. So far, I am loving this Tamiya.

hmm...I remember stocking those last week...The only front uprights we are out of stock on are the regular plastic TB-03 ones. If the 416 uprights are available, that's what we go with.

Just wondering, is the kit steering set supposed to have a little play in it? I don't want to take everything apart until I know I need to fix it.

I did take a pretty hard hit last week. Snapped the right C-hub(intact wheel came rolling of on the next turn) and completely bent the turnbuckle connecting to the steering set.

I bent the turnbuckle back until I can get some replacements..

another question,
Should there be some play between the pinion and spur gear? An employee at the LHS helped me set it up that way but it doesn't seem right to me.

well, there should be some play between pinion and spur (not too much though..), you don't want it to be to tight as it may break/weaken the spur gear over the time... try to use a piece of paper to run through in between the spur and pinion.. that should be about the right distance
