Figured I would be upgrading the shocks anyway and dont really need anymore rtr electronics laying around.

Admittedly, there's not a lot of space to mount ESC's, & while I don't know how big the XERUN is I do have a GTB I've used in mine, & in truth it couldn't quite fit the way it should(there's a little rasied portion that gets in the way of it sitting completely flush), but using Shoe-Goo to mount it, it will stay secure enough. But that is also one of the reasons why I switched over to Tekin RS's, because they fit SOOOO much easier(& it's nice having access to the latest software, too...).

I am thinking of using 16T centre pulley, the drive belt is 342mm which is to long for it. Any idea which drive belt length is suitable for it thks.

Another gearing question

I have a TA05v2 on the way that I'm looking to start racing at my local track in 540 class. They have a mandated gear ratio for this class of not less than 6.1.
Now I've worked out that the closest I can get to 6.1 without going under is to use a 95T spur and 32T pinion (64P).
As I don't have the chassis in front of me yet I wanted to check - are there any issues with using this size spur and pinion? I don't want to get gears that won't fit or cannot be adjusted to mesh properly.

Also check if you are allowed that mod ( either spur or cover) ....at my club the classes where the drive ratio is fixed , they only allow 100% factory kit parts. The idea is that for beginners , even if the ratio is not exactly the same , its the driving skill that will eventually decide the winner anyway (which is very true) , and they are taking away all temptation to fiddle as well as easier scrutenering.

Regarding the rules for the class - we can use any IFMAR legal chassis with any hop-ups provided that "Kits and hot-ups must be assembled as per manufacturers instructions", so I'm okay if I need to replace the spur cover.
Update: just got the kit in the mail today!
So I've measured the 70 tooth spur (48P) included in the kit and its 43mm in diameter - how does that compare to the diameter of the 105T 64P spur?
I'm hoping that the finer pitch combined with the lower number of teeth on the 95T spur will fit.
If anyone has a 95T spur could they post the diameter of the gear?

What have you guys been using to glue the diff plates to the outdrives?
The manual talks about "synthetic rubber cement" while I've also seen others using CA (eg the build project at side-fx - sorry can't post URLs yet).

I'm about to get a Ver II w/ upgrade chassis kit, but is it also worth getting the new carbon reinforced chassis that is coming out at the Shizuoka Hobby show this weekend so I can encorporate it into the build. Does anyone know if it is any good, or worth getting, along with the carbon K parts?
