No
the car was design for round batteries or stick pack...
Or mill out the bottom-inside the plastic material to clear for lipo..

I had a ta05 a long time ago, before I made the switch to lipos. I wanted to get another TCS car and saw the gold edition and thought it would be good...I'm not a fan of the TA06 and the gearbox/belt, as I see as an inefficient ripoff of the HPI RS4 from looooong ago.

So the TA05 with milling of the chassis' insides...would this be allowed in a TCS race? In hindsight I Kinda wished I kept my TA04.

Yes it would be allowed to trim the chassis to fit lipo.

I've been running a shorty in my ta05 (purchased 2006) for a while now in 17.5. The car is definitely not slow. I've been chasing a good setup, so lap times aren't where I want them. I'm getting close....

Try to find someone that has a set-up station. It make life so much easier.

When I am setting up a chassis I will go through the following steps:

-Final weight and L/R balance (I added 34+ grams to the battery side, to get my L/R even)
-Ride Height (5mm F--5 1/2mm R)
-Droop or up travel (2 to 3mm over ride height)
-Camber (2* all around)
-Front Toe (1* out)

I run the M-Four and you'll probably want to get the Kyosho o-rings for your oil diffs as they will begin to leak at the outdrives.

Kyosho PN: ORG05

Also recommend Associated GreenSlime on the diff gaskets to prevent oil from leaking out the belt side.

I'm sure Sagadsetup, aka Mr. TA05 will confirm but the stock v2 came with ball diffs I believe.

Here is a good place for info to get started:

And finally, there's already a TA05 thread to answer all your questions:

I saw "V2" and thought it was the gear diff version.
