if you wanted to go with a carbon fiber chassis kit,my BMI TC3 kit offers the option of running the nitro and tc4 steering racks in 2 positions for more ackerman adjustment. ;)

Speaking of Carbon Fibre Chassis`s.... :)

I was thinking of getting a TC4 CF Chassis kit & retro fitting the TC3 driveline to it..WOULD this be possible without to much hassle. "TC3/4 Hybrid"

My thinking is that by doing this I`ll bring my TC3 up to today`s chassis standards & get some "BLING BLING" too. Also cheaper than buying a new car,if i can use most of the TC3 parts (i`ll change to TC4 steering too).As i can get a TC4 CF chassis kit for around $100-110 USD

Cheers

Thanks :D

to much weight to the drivetrain, the shock tower mounts for the FT TC4 and TC4 team are the same as the TC3 only the mounts were changed

if by bulkheads you mean chassis braces where the camber links are on the 4 Team are interchangable with the 3, when it comes to the FT 4 they are diff

to run TC4 towers u need to run TC4 chassis braces

Couldnt you get a peice of CF,or graphite and make your own chassis for the tc3  and what about plexiglass

Charles Leto 06-12-2005 06:42 PM

plexi glass is to weak, and to flexible it takes a lot of work to make your own CF chassis, unless your an engineering genious. it takes a lot of measuring and you have to be very precise, Cf is also expensive, if you want a CF chassis BMI is the best way to go

Technically, you could. There's a guy at my brother's job who is really into racing and he also builds custom chassis for customers. He also charges an arm and a leg... I'm sure most of his designs are copied from existing ones.

well, since i aint rich... there goes that idea

Charles Leto 06-12-2005 08:12 PM

I`ve already looked into this...have sourced some CF sheet for a "slab" of beer, BUT it`s not the best (from a boat builder) in finish so i gave the idea a miss.

Cheers

probs arise....

I found a great place to run, blacktopped lot. close to home tooo. now heres the prob:
Car wants to slide everywhere. no grip with the stock tires/wheels. this is NOT fun at all. would a set of green dot foam tires help at all??
