InspGadgt, have you finished that Lotus 79 yet? Can't wait to see the finished version. See if you can do anything with that ugly front bumper on the car; it spoils the whole look! There has to be a better way to protect the front than that. Can't understand why Tamiya, who put such a premium on scale appearance, would resort to using something as ugly as that to protect the front, especially of the Lotus 79, one of the most beautiful F1 cars ever!

Hey MikeR, maybe Exotek can design something for that car to replace that bumper. It just has to go!

Not yet...been busy with other projects lately but soon I hope. I plan to trim the bumper to the same shape as the front wing with just a little overlap to protect the body.

Yeah, that tuning bumper from TRG is the bomb! Where do you get it and how much?

It completely fixes the whole problem.

I did check D-Drive, but without a part# I couldn't find it. We need for 3rd-dan to tell us the part# and tell us where he ordered it from and how much.

i have been running on a couple of different tracks lately.one large with very good grip and one smaller with less grip.i found the tamiya hard front soft rear had pretty good grip esp when the tires are cold. the other rubbers i tried werre the pit shimizus. i had medium fronts which i thought had maybe a little to much turn.and on the rear i had the soft rs-3 compound.when these got warmed up they were very good. found they took a few laps to get right up to temp. combo'd the tamiya hard front and rs-3 rear and it worked well. am running a 04pro with silvercan and 1100g total weight.

Gadget, I notice that 3rd-dan is in Germany, so he may have access to things from TRG that we in the states can't get. Our only hope is that he will come back on this thread and give us the part # so that we can check to see if D-Drive or someone else can get us those bumpers.
