Hi Guys, got my first Speed Pasion 4.0 v2 motor, i have had several people tell me to take the fan out of it and lots of people telling me to leave it in.
I run TC and lipo, can someone please tell me whats the best way to go with the motor.

leave the fan in it, you won't notice that much difference.

Like Marcos said..just leave it in, especially in warmer outdoor weather.

With a fan the motor will run 10Deg Cels - 20Deg Cels Lower and it will have the natural feel of a drag brake. Without the fan, the punch, braking speed and top speed will increase by around 5%. I think it just depends on the drivers own preference so dont just follow what everyone else runs, try it yourself try with it and get another rotor and try it without the fan. My own preference is without the fan.

One thing to remember is if you pull a fan off make sure you shim the rotor out so it feels the same amount of play as with the fan.

I was hoping someone would be able to explain what's changed between the v1.1 GT and v2 GT.

The product description isn't proving to be very helpful. As an example, "Green power" isn't really explained in any detail.

I got the gt pro and ran
a 4.5. It ran very well. I had no trouble with over heating. I have a question about the capacitors. They are a little big and bulky. Is there other ones I can buy that are smaller and still have no trouble running mod?

Ok I still would like to know is the other speed passion capacitors that you can buy are better then the stock ones that come with the gt pro v2. Ok next question. I just got the lcd program card. It says to use between 4.5 and 6.5 volt. I have a 2 cell lipo that is 7.4 volt. So can I use my lipo or do I need a extra power source. thanks for the help ahead of time.

The SP supercaps are better.

To use the lcd programer, just plug it into the esc, with the esc plugged into a battery, and switch the esc on. The esc will power the programmer.

Ditto. Motor has more of everything without fan. I find the heat difference is not much at all. Something I do is use different size fans as a tuning aid. When you don't have a lot of grip running a fan will allow you to use a bigger motor and have more top end with better driveability. I generally run a cut down fan to get the best of both worlds.

Is there anyone that is running a GT 2 LPF with a single cell lipo for 1/12th scale? If so could you please tell me your settings? I need to know if this will work without a booster.
Thanks

I'm running an LPF 2.0 in 12th and WGT with 13.5 and 17.5 motors with a 1 cell lipo.

FWD BL, no reverse
timing 26*
AMTS -9
no lipo cut off
heat protection enabled
6% neutral width
10% drag brake
initial brake set to drag brake.

I am running sp motors with this set up.
