I'm sure this has been covered before- the Aluminium screws are too weak and Ti screws (RC Ones) tend to be made with cheap material which isn't as strong as the black steel screws we have (but are lighter).
I'm building my kit now, Overall very impressed so far, but was a bit disapointed to find the steel front driveshafts have been replaced with ally. Will have to see how they last indoors!
What are people running for spring stacks in the rear diff?
And has anyone got a good setup for rubber carpet (13.5)?
Thanks, Chris.

hey top guys
at the last page off the instruktion manual right below the page
they ar talking about the screws for the suspention mounts.
IMPORTANT; stainless steel and titanium screws cannot be
used for the installation of suspention mounts of photon. use
original screws for these locations.
wat is the reason off this.
maiby its discused already buth coldnt find anything.
greetings marcel

Titanium and stainless steel screws are made out of a harder material than stock screws...

Its due to stainless and titanium being softer than the stock steel screws.
So they dont bend in the mounts and you have weeks then with a bad handling car due to a simple bent screw.
Titanium is actually very soft.

Fastfreddy74 - The top deck screws (old ones) were a little soft but the new ones are much better and trust me, the standard M3 screws that come in the kit are a ton harder/stronger than Ti or Stainless screws. I tried to machine them (don't ask..lol) and they were impossible vs other material screws.

sorry didn't see your post. The alloy parts are currently in production. I'm not sure on the ETA, but I'll keep everyone updated here.

Hmmm...
I can't remember hitting anything that hard last week, but I've just taken my car out of my pit bag to prepare for tomorrow and found this
Yep - the hinge pin has broken into two parts !
Apologies for the rubbish 'phone pictures - no macro mode and I can't be bothered to get my DSLR out.
The 14mm screws are also both bent.
What's really weird though is that the front suspension arm, drive shaft, hub, tie rods etc are all fine. The suspension mounts are also OK.
Has anyone else managed to break a hinge pin on the Photon ??
Anyone from TOP got any comments ?
Any other thoughts / comments (other than be more careful )
Daniel.
