The track has a 30 meter (100 ft) straight, with reasonably tight infield.

Any thoughts on FDR..? I've heard I should be up around 6.5 to 7... but .... I'm thinking closer to 4.2 - 4.5 may be better.

Opinions
On a 100' straight with a tight infield you will be overgeared at 4.5. You'd be better off on profile 7 with a starting gear ratio of around 5.5 and work from there.

SPX has stock timing advance profiles. TC has nothing of the sort. The SPX started the timing advance "revolution"

Default 21.5 Gearing

Hey guys,

I am just getting back into racing and I have a Tekin 21.5 to run with my SPX.

Does anyone have any suggestions on FDR? Timing?

On a larger track with a couple of big straights I was thinking around 4.0FDR with a little timing in the motor, and 4.3-4.4 on the smaller tighter (indoor) tracks?

Ben

Does anyone know which is a more aggressive profile, #8 on the Sphere Comp TC or #6 on the SPX (the last of the non-timing profiles)?

Could Reto/Burito chime in on this perhaps?

I am pretty sure that 6 has a super small amount of timing, the first timing advance profile.

They are close to the same. Not exactly but very close.

I think you are in the ballpark if you are running profile 7. I was running a Novak SS 21.5 in Vintage Trans Am. I kept the SPX on profile 7 and ran a 4.55 FDR on smaller tracks and down to the 4.2 minimum FDR on larger ones. The setup was very fast.

And now, no running, make a fast forward-backward movement, change battery, change motors, verified sensor cable, battery cables, motor cables.... nothing... change the esc and motors ok....

Gearing, with 10.5: 5.10 medium carpet track, and 4.5T: 8.05 medium asphalt track

Hey guys, I'm running an sc10 on a medium-size track the the SPX stock spec ESC and LRP 13.5 stock spec motor. I'm rolling with a 9.5 FDR and my truck comes off the track at 180 with profile number 4 and 160 with profile number 3. Any gearing suggestions? The truck is dialed on 4, just gets too hot on longer runs

Hi guys,

Is it true that booster is switched off this ESC when MODE 2 switched to value 1?

Okay so ive been using the SPX Stock Spec for quite a while now since the trend of advanced timing esc for the stock class first started...

Now the trend seems to revert to ZERO Timing class and the usage of Stock Spec esc are no longer allowed.

Now the question is, can anyone from LRP or anyone perhaps give a confirmation that the SPX can be run without any timing added?

I know that profile 1-4 is meant for modified motors so does this means that the esc doesnt increase the timing in these profiles?

Having spent a lot of money into this esc and only been using it for less than a year, i need solid confirmation to convince the race organizers to allow me to run this in the ZERO Timing class...

Thnx in advance
