Its the heatsink for the TA05. If you get that one, you'll be set. I bought one a while ago and they are SCHWEET!

I have seen a few for sale on ebay -
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/53837-TAMIYA-T...QQcmdZViewItem

But they are expensive (tho they do look cool) but I went for a powered heatsink instead. (and half the price!)

The 2.5mm was slightly better at the Tamiya Track. I'll probably stick with the 2.5mm for now but I've got a 3mm chassis that needs prepping so I can test. Also, keep in mind that the prototype MSX's had chassis that were stiffer despite the same thickness (tighter weave, uber resin, who knows).

Mark, remember how you had an opossum incident...well, I think one got into our garage and peed in one of the corners...I can't work on my stuff at home because it stinks so bad grrr damn R.O.U.S.

Since you have an MS chassis already, you might want to run it for a bit to get a feel and see what the Tamiya boys learn with the MSX on asphalt before you start investing in a new chassis. I think Rod has tested 2 vs 3mm in MS trim, perhaps not MSX. If anything is relative, the thinner chassis will prove to be better on asphalt. I know from other chassis I have tested this is true as well.

Good luck.

Mark,
In the picture it looks as though there is no lower chassis. Stealthy!!

Kai makes a 2.5mm chassis for the 415. If it matters whether it's a Tamiya chassis or aftermarket brand.

VS.

I would chose the opossum. Are you sure yours was not a skunk?! If you ever get sprayed by a skunk take a tomoato bath.

Unhappy MSX conversion!

I thought on the MSX kit that it came with blue aluminum screws or at least Titanium screw. I would have gladly given up the T-shirt that is way too small for better screws or one of those heat sinks or even better than that, a lower deck!!I guess my son gets another TRF T-shirt.

Maybe Tamiya doesn´t make the MS chassis anymore as the upgraded MSX chassis is coming soon.

I know but a friend of mine has just broken his chassis and he asked me where to find one. I went threw many online shops and all of them told me that this item is sold out!!!

Bad luck for him (my friend), so if anyone has an info, he would be welcome.

Hiyah...

Welcome to the world of tamiya...Even its a top of the line kit,but they won't include Ti or Alu screws. They want you to BUY.....!!!

Look at the MS kit for eg....Before the kit was release, the pics on the net was with new blue alu screws, but when it was release,it was full of steel screws...

Talking MO BETTER BLING!

If I'm buying Ti screws it definitely isn't going to be from Tamiya. Way too expensive. Not sure how much the blue screws are from Tamiya but the weight savings will be minimum compared to Titanium. Just blue is so bling!

Not keen on the thought of Alloy into Alloy anyway. Go the Ti - definately the way to go.
