thanks
The LW sus arms are totally different arms altogether. The bearings are way smaller. If memory don't fail me.It should be a 850 bearing(could someone verify).

And the Cv shaft, you should use a longer one then previous arms.Say a 46mm swing shaft and a TB EVO4 wheel axle.Hope this helps.

Everyone I know that runs a 415 around here does not put the 4 post on the car.It gives the car more chassis flex to generate mmore grip on low to mid bite tarmac.Another reason why the MSX does away with the post.

OK, seems I put the standard arms and assembly on rather than the LW...DOH.

OK, now that I know which is which, the LW seems to leave huge gaps between the two suspension mounts.

Is this what the MS chassis changes?

If I want to keep the standard chassis, are there parts I should be shimming with, or do I use a lot of 2mm spacers??????

And LASTLY, i am using Kobiachs carpet setup, how should I shim the LW arms??? 0.7mm at the rear will push them waaaaaayyyyyyyy back.

The Shock towers, and main chassis are diff also. The 415 uses a 3mm chassis while the MS uses a 2.5mm one.

Regarding your shimming of wheelbase.I use the setup recammanded in the instruction manual that comes with the LWS arms set.

Brit racer; If you don't have the LWT manual, try these spacings.
On the front, place 2mm in front of the arm, and 6mm behind (2x3mm).
On the rear place 5mm (2mm+3mm) and 3mm behind the arm.

F.Alonso; the hole in the middle of the std front shock tower is for a 5th body post. Allows you to support the front wheel arches in a roll over/crash, avoiding the nasty spilts that run up them. I'm currently running it whilst racing indoors on a (very) tight indoor carpet track, seems to help when I crash If you want to try it, take a rear bodypost, and mount it with in a similar manner to teh rear ones. Just don't forget to ream another hole in your shell....

Do you need to use a different roll bar kit when using the LWT suspension? I wanted to give it a try at Bedworth but the front one just wouldn't fit.

Also, I have noticed that the slop on the back hubs is pretty poor - probably due to the small bearings - what do people do to tighten this up, if anything.

Thanks, I don't have the manual, I will try that.

However, after reading another 50 or so pages of this thread last night, I discovered that as I run on carpet, the standard arms are a better option for me.

I plan on running on asphalt in the autumn when its cooler outside, so I will try them then, but I think I will get a MS chassis with more flex and so that I don't mess up my carpet chassis.

THanks again to everyone for the help....

I am slowly but surely getting there!!!

No problem!

I'd recommend the standard suspension - thats what I use.

I have used the LWT setup though and it's still good, but not as good.

I have been using a mates spare 415MS car and liked it so just got a 415 2nd hand.

the 2nd hand car has 4mm shims under the ball joints on the steering linkage plate, where as everyone at the club I run at uses 1mm spacers.
Can anyone give my any idea as what the increase in spacers has?

Barry Hughes, running more spacers under the front inner camber link position raise's the front roll centre, allowing the front of the car to roll more, generating more steering. I run between 4-6mm spacers on my car, I like the way it turns in a lot better(asphault) than the way it does with 1-2mm of spacers.

Hope this helps

I've pre-ordered my MSX and Pro Module set, from Champ-RC, and they are doing a good price for them both. 21600yen ex postage for BOTH. Not a bad deal I think.... so I took the plunge. They will be released on September 28th.

If ya can't tell, I can't wait!!
