strange behavior of the LRP SPX Spec ESC and DSM
#18
I've had no problems with the Nosram version of the SPX and Spektrum Micro Receiver, both work fine even at close range.
Haven't heard any reports of anyone with any problems either

Since Burito has yet to reply, I have inserted his standard answer to help you guys out.
Sorry to hear about the ________ failure on your _________, we didn't have such problems at __________ were we ran in very extreme conditions so I would think this is a "one off" problem only.
So it would be good to know more details of your application.
I don't want to say you did something wrong, I just like to understand what could have caused it.
As for the repair, I'd suggest you speak to your hobbyshop and your countries LRP distributor. I'm unfortunately not of much help from here.

I've run LRP for years with no problems on the speed controls and I've been running Spek since it came out. I did buy an SPX this week and when I plugged everything in it went up in smoke. Less than 10 seconds and now it'll be at least 3 weeks turn around to get it back! This is the 3rd speed control I've seen go up in smoke lately before they ever got run. Quality control problems maybe?

I am running a KO Helios with Spektrum Pro setup and have experienced no issues with it. I ran it all week this past week at IIC in my rubber car. No throttle issues at all.

I have the blue LED randomly flashing with SPX competition stock spec ESC. The car/TX is sitting idle and with TX far from the car.
I did not tested on the track yet, so can't tell if there is any noticeable side effect.
I am using SR300, DX2.0 and DX3.0.
Any fix or word from LRP?

i was running a SPX with my DX3r with no prblems at all. if the throttle potentiometer were to "wander" a little bit, that would account for the blue light flickering as the frequency of the throttle channel comes off and on to true neutral. if your radio has a neutral dead band setting(some do, some dont) try widening the dead band. just a thought.

I noticed that the throttle neutral is very sensitive (my DX3.0 is brand new). I will try to do as you suggested, thanks! BTW...this speedo has a very good punch.

My DX3.0 can't make the the throttle dead band wider, only narrower.
But I set the throttle trim pretty high that the motor was engaged and spinning with a good speed. Unfortunately the LED was still flickering which caused the motor to cog (the current was turned off for a very short period of time or may be even a brake was applied). I can't tell if this can be noticed during a normal driving.
I have a different spectrum RX to test it with....
