It's great to see Xray have a budget car again. $300? Is this price a little bit high for a budget car? Especially if it come with inferior drive shaft and no turnbuckle. Even a low cost basic TA05 come with turnbuckle. What about the differential? Is this also a low cost?

If I need to pick up an high end car now, without a doubt it will be Xray.
I think no one in the industry can match their material, build quality and extremely tight manufacturing accuracy. Really hope this new touring car can can hold up to Xray standard just like their old T1R and T2R.

Last time when Xray released the budget version of the T2 (or T1..? I lost track..)...some ppl were buying that because they want to use it as a spare parts car when Xray was slow on making parts. But that was like $200 version.
Now...I don't quite understand this, with bad economy, parts were being made at lower cost.....now they want to release a so called budget racer for $300..? Unless Xray want to create their own "Budget class"....otherwise, how can they compete with other budget chassis like Cyclone S, TA05 or TA05R (I purchased my TA05R brand new when they released for $200 shipped from Japan with EMS shipping in 3 days...) Team Magic E4JS or Schumacher Mi3 Racer....all of the above were pricing from $175 to $250 the most.
I am sure and know XRAY quality is class of its own. But I really don't see ppl will spend $300 for a budget car...$300 can buy a barely used high end car here on Rctech, Ebay or any local track...and alot of time, those used car were ran only couple times, sometimes, they were even new.
Again, I am not targeting Xray, just want to talk about the $300 price tag. I would say if it is $200 just like their last budget version. Then Xray will definitely get the customer respect for actually producing a budget chassis.

I think it would be wise to wait to see the full specs and photos of the T2R PRO before passing judgment. We'll know exactly what is and is not included once it is published on their website. All we know is XRAY is producing a $300 1/10th scale touring car cut from the same mold as their T2 line. Yes, the details definitely matter so let's wait on them.

The T2R PRO doesn't arrive in the US until early January. RC America said it may be the first week of January. You can only preorder order the T2R PRO from US XRAY dealers.

I currently have 2 Xray T2's and 2 007's all bought used. My first car entering into the TC realm was the T2R in the beginning of 2007 for $200. this was a great car for the money as it was basically the same as a $350 T2 but with plastic diff out drives, fiberglass chassis & top deck, and few other minor items.
I love the Xray car but I have to say the T2R Pro for $300 is way over priced especially with some of the downgrades compared the original T2R. I would spend a extra $100 for a T2 008'.
My biggest gripe about Xray is the price of parts. They charge way to much and from what I've seen are the most expensive of all the touring cars made today. There is no reason for what they charge.
The car is very well designed and I love the cars I have, I just wish RC America would realize this is a hobby with the majority of club racers being middle class.
