I can my car perfectly balanced at around 1480g. At my recent state titles (weight limit 1500) i was using a ko 2413, KO speedie, Spektrum micro receiver, lrp 10.5 with the fan and heatsink(Weighs 40g). and amb. On the other side i was using the manutech lipo tray. But it has been milled out by a machinest and now weighs 63g. With a Ip5000 30c lipo (279g).
Also had 20g in the centre of the car. 10g on the FL, FR and RR corners of the car. Body weighed 112g.
The car was really good and perfectly balaned side to side.
Was also using 38t pulys, ashphalt top deck, ALU shocks, and a hard foam bumper(ALOT Heavier than standard). So slightly different weights there.
Hope that gives some ideas,
Antoni

Thanx Antony
I've removed fan from alloy sink and attach the fan to the motor side top deck screw with longer screw and 9mm shim ...
Removed around 50grams of the Weight Lead and car now 100 grams lighter and Right to left balanced 1450 grams exactly ...
Next step is waiting for Tuesday for some Track performance tests to see if single screw will hold the fan in place
fingers crossed...

may be this can help.
maybe this can help. i used a brass metal sheet that you can buy from hobby shop. i made one for my buddy and he's happy with it. It can hold your fan thru hard crashes and races and weighs 1 gram only. i can make one for you. if you wanna try it.

great ideas thanx again guys
I've cut one of the old battery strap and place 4 holes 2 for fan ,2 for mounting , with added few shims it's rock solid...
single screw mounting looked not safe to me ...
It's right on top of the motor...
I'll try to add some pics later on...
cheers

Drew used a piece of lexan that he had screwed to to heatsink of the speedcontrol, since there is no fan on the sc, then just used a couple of screws to hold the fan to the lexan. This would be in the flow of air on the front side of the motor and not on the back side.....more effiecient? I'm not sure, but in theory.............

K guys I am building my first electric tc and its n xray.Whoever said xray instructions are the best lied!pics and pn's are all I see.Like when they have you build the arms the pins are shown with a pn but no measurments!I have a caliper and it would be easier to use that then examine the pics and refer to the parts list.Anyways I got a t2009 and will be racing at the collisium when I get her finished!

I was having a bad day yesterday.Instructions are not that bad but they could be better.I was mad cause now I have to clean up some ca smears I made while glueing the edges.Any tips?
#1854
apparently I was just grumpy from the ca smears that I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing.Anyways I used my dremel and scratch remover polish to get rid of the smears and am happy enough with the result now I am back on to building! [IMG][/IMG]

Considering getting back into electric tc. the only difference between the 008 and the 009 is the anodizing and the top deck on the 009 is more lipo friendly correct?
I would be doing rubber on carpet so that means i want the euro kit right?
Thanks in advanced for any suggestions
