Josh,
Congrats on Cleveland!!!
Got a quick question....when you say you are using the long wheel base do you mean the rear arms are as far back as they will go? i.e. you are using no spacer behind the arms??
Thanks!!!

Yep, no spacers behind the rear arms (it works really well actually, but i found my car drives better witha 2mm spacer behind the arm)
Josh, i;m not sure if you race stock or not but do you have any recomendations for a stock motor on rubbers...on a medium-large indoor sized track.
the surface is a rubbery type floor (indoor running track)
car is evo2 with low ratios.
thanks
Matt

Ozwald - I use all the spacers in the front so the wheel base is maxed out with the exception of a motor shim to take up the play.
monkey - I've always prefered the longer wheel base as it calms the car down in mod and gives a little more on-throttle steering... Stock??...uhh..... No clue...

Josh, I figured out that hooking problem I had. When I changed tires I forgot to trim the tire down, so it was rubbing on the shock eyelet when it cornered hard. Duhh LOL
Anyways you said before that you set droop with limiters in your rear shocks. What size kind of spacers are you using and what size? I have an older BMI chassis that I just got and the droop screw sit too far out on the chassis and it makes setting the droop inconsistant. Right now I have some spacers in my shocks, but I still have too much droop. Thanks.

Scrad - I don't remember the exact # or size of shims. I just measured the travel and put in enough shims to set things where I wanted - Remember, set the shims at the right setting but leave your shock bottom unscrewed about 1 full turn - this will give you the option to add or take away droop without taking the shocks apart....

JOsh-we ran Modified Sedan for the first time in ages Sunday. Made lots of changes to the car-some on radio and alot on the car, but at end of day-I still felt like I needed a lot more steering-especially mid-corner. But I notice on all Pro XRay set-up sheets-the set-ups never look crazy on steering. Never too much caster, camber, toe-out, reduced rear toe.......
SoO my question is-when do you stop looking for mechanical steering and then just hit the brakes or lift earlier for the turns to get through the corners tight?
Thanks as always,
Ray

Ray - Never enough steering unless it's impossible to drive...lol.. Are you doing the full front tire with tire traction???
Corey - Neither in my opinion.... What is your set-up??
whynot - I use Stage III wire...lol... It's so old, I've had it from back in the days when my parents owned Stage III battery matching company.....

roll center??
Josh,
I was looking at your Cleveland 2004 setup for the XRay and I'm curious how come you run a high roll center in the rear of the car ?
Thanks and congrats on your wins at Cleveland!
