BTW for future reference I know a lot of people ask what each body type looks like so for those wondering the one I posted above is an M-type.

And M-Body has a weak rear wing. Get another if you want that body!

Very easy to break it on roll over.

The set screw on the rear axle keeps coming loose and I'm scared to over tighten it so I dont strip it. Can I use blue loctite to prevent it from coming loose and making more slop left to right than needed?

What does everyone else due with this?

One more thing where can I get stickers for the bodies?

Hi all the F103RM gurus.. got a few questions hope you guys can help.

I burnt 3 Sport Tuned motors during yesterday's local TAC.
1st I over geared, so thats's my fault. But the last 2 motors were on stock gearing as recommend by the manual. Any ideas? I'm using a MC 330 R ESC direct connect to the motor.

2nd, any ideas how to minimise the cone out effect of the front tires? or rather how to get a cone in for the front tires?

3rd, for foamies, what is best size to true the tires to?

4th, what is the difference between running the 43 pitch and the 64 pitch gears?

thanks in advance.

im not a guru, but i can answer some of your q's...

3 racing makes a camber and caster adjustment kit, see here:

but TCS races wont allow it (according to the REAL gurus.) however there is a work around. the upper part that the upper arms connect to can be modded. see here:

i used a yokomo king pin collar which was 1.3mm and it gave me an additional .5* neg camber(went from .5 to 1)

now, any shim will work, if it fits the following dimensions: 6.8mm OD 4mm ID.

4th, what is the difference between running the 43 pitch and the 64 pitch gears?
64 run quieter, and have a wider selection.
make sure if you run tamiya 64p, or tamiya 48p, you have the matching tamiya pinion or a metric pinion.

i personally run 48 because i have a ton of 48p gears, and i have the 3 racing shim. but beware, if you run 48 and have the under body diffuser, it will need to be modded to clear the gear. (unless you use shims to raise the motor mount)

btw, this is my car:

yes, that is brushless and lipo... it is a speed passion 3300. speed passion makes a brushless hit SPECIFICALLY for F1 that is a 3100. i wanted a tad bit more juice. the upper deck did need to be modded to accept thetall ESC and TALL fan.

Nice, I will try it out. When you say shafe, you mean to cut away the portion?

How about truing the foamies? or you just run it the way it is?

Thanks a bunch

We run without fans on our ezrun's, no trouble with heat as of yet. Even with uncut Zen and Tamiya foams. As for 3300 vs 3000 kv, the difference is minimal. I also belive the F1 specific was 2800kv if i'm not mistaken.

This thing flies with cheap ezrun's in it. Very good alternative to Sport Tuned.

Who makes the least brittle front wing?

I'm using the new Cross front wing and can't seem to get them to last a whole race day. One tap and they drag the floor or snap a wing end or vane off. I've gone through 3 wings now. I bought 10, but this is ridiculous. We run on carpet lined with PVC and between normal racing mistakes and a bad pass or two they get trashed.

IMHO... Tech Racing Type A or Type B wings are the best I've seen.

Aside from the material they are made from being softer and more flexible that most wings I've seen, the front wing side plates are designed to pop off in a collision.. Yes that can be annoying, but its also cool to see bits of wing fly away when you have an accident

+1, I'm trying to find a good match for a Tyrrell Ford 019. I still have the original decals. Any suggestions on a body set?
