Nice paint job on the tyrrell body, Mark. I bet it'll turn some head at the track.

Mine is still masked and unpainted. But this might be just enough to get me off my butt and finish it.

EDIT: wow it does go back farther. go barcodes!!!

If I remember properly (and and my age it's possible I don't! ) at that time there were certain tracks at which tobacco advertising was prohibited and others where it was OK which resulted in different liveries for different races.

I really like your paintjob...what body is that on?

Cheers,

Mike

I sure do. I'm going to try and drum up a 6 cell, stock (17.5 brushless or 27T) and foam tire class. We'll see how that goes. It really depends on availability of the kits. Much Hobbies in Ontario, Canada has them in stock at the moment. FYI, foams run well on the new surface. As proof, my son has foams on his T4 now it truly flies on the new carpet. My old TC3 doesn't look bad either on treated rubber tires.

I'm going to paint them to match, both 2008 Sauber colors. I ordered the decals from JP along with 2 sets of 30 shore and 2 sets of 35 shore Cross mounted foam tires for practicing and the aluminum servo holders. Both cars should do well.

One chassis built. I'll get to the electronics tonight. Painting will take time.

Notes: Comes with 2000 McLaren Body, 540 Johnson Motor and the sticker sheet. Stock steering is weak, needs turnbuckles.

Hey liljohn,

I used the Tamiya Blue Titanium Turnbuckles on mine. The part number is 42120 3x42mm. That's the same size as the F1 Turnbuckle Tie Rod Set sold by Tamiya. Keep in mind you'll have to get different ball ends. The stock brass one's wont work with the bigger ball cups.

Hope this helps...

Thanks!

I'll check the LHS for that part number and the larger ball ends. I still need to either change spur gears or get the right metric pinions for the car for the brushless. I think since this is intended to be a carpet only car, I may switch to 64 pitch. I'll have to by the Cross adapter though, no metric centerhole spurs with english pitch that I know of. Again, I have to see what the LHS stocks.

Thanks, Vyger. I'll have to go though a different channel to get those decals. Anyways, I was going to buy the cross Ferrari 640, but they'er sold out of them, so I got the F1-08 body shell. dose anyone know what car this shell is styeld after?
