High speed I used a 94758 Digital Servo worked perfectly fine, you dont need as much torque because it is so light

For those who use F103GT front end (suspension) for their F103...do you know what is the PIN that will fit the F103 front tires..? The GT front pin is for TC tires and is too long for the F1 tires to fit...someone told me it is a TB03 parts or some other Tamiya car parts....any know the parts number..? Thanks...

yes, you can use 48 pitch spurs. You will have to get an adapter for the gear.

That is the part that you will need.

If you wish to use sedan type wheels and tires there are a few additional things you will need.

The front Bumper for the F-103 GT fit against the chassis plate which was different than the F-103. The F-103GT uses a TA05 front bumper and boddy posts. So you will need a bumper set and Chassis plate.

The front steering knuckles are different and carry different axles as the axle turns on the knuckle and not the wheel. This also required a special link type front end so the suspension actually would work.

There are special rear body posts and supports to hold the rear of the body.

You will also need new rear hubs and differential arrangement from the F-103
GT.

I know this because I converted an F-103GT to an F-103 and I have all the parts sitting here.

So if you want to use sedan wheels and hubs, let me know because I still have all the parts available from my car, some parts I have new in package that I purchased as spares.

OR....

You could just run F-1 style wheels and tires and only get the rear body mounts. You could use an F-103LM (LeMans) front bumber on an F-103 chassis, or run body posts in the extra holes on the F-103 front end, but if you hit something this could break the front suspension.

If you want details check the Tamiya America web site for the parts sheet for the F-103GT. You should be able to see all the parts I spoke of.

Default Speed passion F1 motor?

I saw a couple references here for the Speed passion f1 sport tuned motor. How does it run compared to brushed and other brushess? Im looking at it due to it might be roar legal, sensorless so i can use a CC sidewinder if F1 goes that way after mabuchi 540's.

Anyone?

I would get the aluminum motor mount and special damper, and the optional front spring set. You are looking at about $50-$60 in hopups and the car will be good to race.
Just make sure when you build it that everything is free and smooth, especially on the diff.

What is the best setup for the F103 to race on the Tamiya track in OC? Should I get the soft rear t-bar-- and go with medium 35 fronts and 30 soft rears? Last I heard people were trying to get more rear bite with these babies--
firm front springs?? Are we allowed lipos for the upcoming F-1 race??
Thanks
