Sorry for starting that up here... it's actually an old joke from back in my Motocross days... The term "powerband" simply refers to the range of rpm where the motor is making good power and torque. Below this rpm range, the motor would feel "boggy" and above this rpm range, the motor would feel "flat". Motocross engines back then were ALL two stroke engines. Two stroke engines typically had a lot of pwoer, but a very narrow RPM range where the power was usable, or less power, but a wider, more "driveable" RPM range where the pwoer was usable. Reviewers always spoke about the wide or narrow powerband of a particular engine. Some guys would get it in their head that the "power bands" were actual parts on the engine... and thus the jokes began. I used to work as a mechanic in a bike shop, and actually had a guy bring me his disassembled engine in a cardboard box asking me where the powerband was once... Another of our regular customers had convinced himself that the piston rings were the "power bands" and every time he needed new rings he came in and asked for them as "power bands". THe boss thought it was so funny he wouldn't let any of us correct the guy...

One question. Do you use on long outdoor tracks more Boost and timing on the motor or is it than still better to use boost 30 and timing on the motor on 0?

I have a fairly new 3pks and had to reverse throttle to make motor run correct.
Any Ideas as to why this is on the rs pro and did not happen with other ESC'S?
thanks

I cant wait to add the RX8 to my two RS pros. Great stuff guys keep it up.
i think randy means 24 on the motor plus 12 boost for a total of 36 degrees

Randy,
could you post a 17.5 setup too? i have read the last 20 pages of this thread multiple times and am getting more confused not less.
my preferred application would 1/12 if that matters.

also just to clarify what the current tuning priorities are with 1.89 firmware:
1) get minimum lap times by adjusting rollout and 'boost' with 0 (or minimum) physical timing on the motor, without overheating the can.
2) adjust all other parameters for personal taste.
does this sum up the situation? or is there other concerns?

thanks in advance for the help.

I ordered an RS/17.5 combo from Stormer. What is the length of the sensor wire that comes with the RS and is there any benefit to a shorter wire besides mounting? Thanks.

Hi,

Why everyone is running 17.5 or like with T2 or TC5 onroad rubber?

this is weird ... I was planning to run a tekin 6.5T ... do you play with the spur .. pinion to have top speeds ...?

where can i find something that I could read to understand that?

Cédric
